Remember me

Postby Radiance » Fri Aug 03, 2018 6:30 am

It's already the fifth time I was logged out when I exit the website even if the "Remember me" was checked. I didn't encounter this problem yesterday. Is this connected to the recently spamming of bots?

There have been issues yesterday most likely due to the bots, but if you tick the remember me now, it should work right?

app.php/help/faq#f0r7

Going off of this. "Remember me" uses cookies to keep you logged in and deleting cookies can help reset something wrong with cookies that were stored. Make sure your browser is allowing cookies to be stored for this site, and they're not being cleared when closing the site or browser.

Here's something else to try: when you get to the login page, make sure your url starts with https instead of http. This seems to be a spreading issue and this worked for me.

No problem, if you logged in with your password on the http page instead of the https page before it's generally a good idea to change it. There's nothing showing passwords or anything were compromised, but there's always the potential with unencrypted pages.

I've also had this problem happen to me, however it only ever happened once. Is there like some sort of timeout? i.e. after x months, you are automatically logged out?

This bug started happening to me when I did that...

Edit: This happened about seven or eight times yesterday.

Not to my knowledge, though your login cookie could have expired for whatever reason.

Does replacing http in the url with https help? If you don't have login issues you don't need to delete all board cookies.

I deleted them as soon as I had login issues with the wiki. That is when this remember me issue happened, This is the ninth time it happened now actually. Also, This uses either https:// or http:// right now, but it used the one with security in the past.

The login page is supposed to use https by default but something went wrong and has caused problems with logging in. Changing http:// to https:// still keeps logging you out?

For some reason clicking on the pipe saying SMBX Forums on mobile now logs me out and typing https in front of the site's login page automatically logs me back in.

Are you still getting logged out when you click other pipes after you've typed https?
