1. I would like to know the actual max number of layers and events you can have. Answered.
2. After I downloaded SMBX 1.3.0.1 and LunaDLL (I still can't get LunaDLL to work), every time I go to SMBX on my desktop, click "start game" and wait for it to load, and then the only episodes it lets me play is "The Invasion 2" and "The Princess Cliche," SMBX 1.3.0.1's default episodes. However, I have a colossal selection of episodes in my worlds folder like Super Mario Star Expedition, Valtteri Island Revisited, etc. I don't know if I have SMBX 1.3 on my desktop, but I can't find the Level Editor that comes with version 1.3.0.1. I think the proper solution would be to give me a link for ONLY SMBX 1.3.0.1's editor that goes onto the desktop, please don't link me to anything extra (not even SMBX 1.3.0.1's folder including the new sounds effects, new graphics, etc.), because even God knows my computer is way too full. Answered.

For the first, I'm just trying that. For now I know that the max of layers are over...750.
For the second, There is a download of LunaDLL+SMBX 1.3.0.1 in the topic of LunaDLL. It's without the new graphics and sounds

I specifically said I DON'T want the new graphics and sounds, I want the level editor for SMBX 1.3.0.1 packed individually.

For the other part of question 1, the maximum number of events you can have is 99. After that the Add button will probably get greyed out and you won't be able to add any more, but you won't get a runtime error.

Layers have been answered before. Events are 100.

The editor alone? As far as I know SMBX 1.3.0.1 comes with the same launcher, thus, with both the editor and the start game button. If your desktop SMBX is a shortcut, try to find the source of it, as it will only look into the "worlds" subfolder in the folder the launcher is in. Maybe you're using multiple sources for SMBX, not sure.

1. I just played around with this a bit before the above responses were posted, and got different results. I couldn't create more than 98 of each, not counting the preset ones. With events, I simply couldn't create any more after 98, but creating more than 98 layers resulted in Run-Time Error 9 (Subscript out of range) upon testing. When I reopened the level, all of the layers except the presets were gone. However, if I had that many layers and had at least one object on Layer 99+, the level tested successfully without crashing. Once I exited testing though, the number of new layers reset to 98, and any objects placed higher than that were moved to the Default layer. I have no idea if this is unique to 1.3.0.1 or what. I also tested this with an otherwise blank level, so I'm sure there's some give or take, there.
2. Do you mean the SMBX 1.3.0.1 exe file by itself?

I think I can confirm this as christian07 got a run time error with 1100 layers running. All of his layers were wiped out and he got Run-Time Error 9.

Also SMBX will load the layers on 3 seconds if you have a really huge number of layers and if you'll have the run-time error for the layers, SMBX will reset all the layers and events and all the object in the layers will put in the default layer. Whoa.

The first question has been answered, so please ignore it.
Chad wrote:2. Do you mean the SMBX 1.3.0.1 exe file by itself?
I'm not sure precisely, but the one that goes on the desktop as a level editor and it also allows access to "Start Game".

Is it a shortcut? If yes, try to find the source and get the episodes into a worlds subfolder of it.
If not, do you have a graphics, music, sound, worlds and screenshots folder on your desktop or what?

Try opening the .exe directly through C:\SMBX (or however you have it set up). Will episodes show up as normal if you do it that way and hit Start Game?

Yep, it works. Thanks, Chad. Should I copy or cut it to my desktop? Also, should I replace the existing level editor in my desktop with the 1.3.0.1 one that actually works?

Yeah, I would recommend doing that. I wouldn't copy/cut it, though. Right-click the .exe and go to "Send To>Desktop (create shortcut)" to make sure it actually shows up as a shortcut. That should work.

Thanks again, Chad.
Also, this may be the reason that LunaDLL wasn't working properly for me; I never put the version 1.3.0.1 .exe file in the desktop as a shortcut. However, I need to re-download LunaDLL since I deleted it with some inconvenience, and at the time it was useless to have since it wasn't working.
To moderators and administrators: please don't lock this for two reasons:
-I would like to bump this thread if LunaDLL works, since I've been trying to get it to do so for approximately a month now.
-If I have anymore questions, I might as well post them here as it's useless to create a bunch of different threads in my opinion.

Sorry for the double post, but it has to be done.
Anyway, LunaDLL still doesn't work properly after I re-downloaded it. Might I ask, when I download the program and extract it to "SMBX," it asks me if I want to replace the existing .exe file for SMBX (since LunaDLL's download comes with smbx.exe). However, I did not replace the new smbx.exe with the one I already had. Should I do so?

Yes, you want to replace it. The .exe that comes with LunaDLL is a variant of 1.3.0.1 that's set up to handle LunaDLL, so you want to do that. In fact, you should probably use that as the shortcut, too.

Well damn it, we're back at the beginning. Should I of replaced it on the desktop? I did so, and then when I tried to open it, it said "The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Now I need the SMBX 1.3.0.1 .exe again, and I would like it individually packed in a download link, I don't want to download 100+ MB from my computer when I already have everything except the right .exe.
Quite frankly, I am just done with LunaDLL, it's put too much pressure, and too much of a hassle.
It would be a huge favor if someone could link me to ONLY SMBX 1.3.0.1's .exe, nothing extra, no folders, no sounds, none of that because it's too much stuff for my computer when I already have it all. Not to mention it takes for eternity to download.

What you want to do is replace the SMBX 1.3.0.1 exe in C:\\SMBX and then create a shortcut of the new .exe to your desktop. There's nothing to replace on the desktop itself since that shouldn't be the folder you're working with.

What do you mean by "there's nothing to replace on the desktop itself since that shouldn't be the folder you're working with?" If I put the new .exe as a shortcut onto the desktop and already have the existing .exe there, it makes it to SMBX shortcut (2). Do I want this?
eh, i have terrible grammar when it comes to attempting to explain SMBX and my questions
Also, I am still anxious for someone to give me the download for SMBX 1.3.0.1's .exe (the one that comes with its normal download; NOT the one that comes with LunaDLL). I need it desperately as soon as possible.

You only want one shortcut on the desktop, and that should be created from the version of the .exe you're going to be using. Running it directly from C:\SMBX would resolve shortcut-based issues, but I don't think that'll help with MSVCP100.
I understand your frustration and apologize that I couldn't be more helpful. Here is a link to the original, LunaDLL-free 1.3.0.1 .exe file by itself. Put that in your SMBX folder, make that the only SMBX shortcut on your desktop, and you should be back in business as you were before.
