Additional Forum Extensions

I believe it would be helpful to the staff and members to have the following extensions:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... tsmerging/ - Automatic merging of chain posts without the need for users to report, or staff to handle manually.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... orum_spam/ - Utilizing Stop Forum Spam's database for preventing spam bots being able to register and spam.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/imgur/ - Imgur code that uses Imgur's API to make embedding screenshots easier for new members.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... ile_flair/ - Would be nice for medals to be brought back to accompany future events.
Each of these should help both staff and members I think. I searched up extensions that should be compatible with the board software and are functional. If anyone knows better alternatives to any of these extensions, or think there should be some other extensions please share. The Imgur and auto-merge extensions I feel will help with the tedious task of both reporting and moderating posts that are a nuisance (probably 80% of reports). The SFS database has also come in handy for identifying spam accounts in the past, and would maybe account for about another 10% of reports users have to make. These are rough estimates though based on my experience, but I do feel these extensions would be beneficial to the forum without any giant changes to how the forums normally work. Thoughts?

Seconding this! What would the first extension do about apropriate double-posts though? (project bumps, mafia etc)

Why is editing not allowed in Mafia anyway?

Because the whole game revolves around deception and evidence. Banning post editing makes people unable to take back what they've said or change certain important pieces of information

Forums can be excluded from auto-merges so the Projects and Mafia forums could be exempted to avoid this if necessary.

If Mafia is out from the auto-merging, I am game for this.

As you all may have noticed, some extensions have been installed. So far the Imgur and Medals extensions haven't been working with the SMBX layout, so they'll be worked on/replaced over the next few days.
Added in 1 minute 11 seconds:
The important ones, merging and security, work so that's a big improvement already.

That is actually a very important thing to know. Where all is that chain post code working anyway?

As far as I know it applies to every forum except Mafia and Projects. Admins/Kley would be able to tell you if there's any others.

I saw the check mark at the bottom that said "Do not merge with previous post" which makes me wonder why projects are not allowed to be used. Is there a forum extension that prevents editing though? (At least for normal users?) This is mostly directed at mafia.

Merging will definitely make it easier and more convenient to add quotes to a post (since previous posts don't display when editing).

Before you would have to do copy and paste shenanigans to add quotes.

Editing should be disabled for normal users after its replied to or quoted I think, not sure. But yeah, despite the box the merging doesn't automatically happen in the Projects and Mafia forum so projects can be updated and Mafia play isn't effected.

While extensions are being worked on, would anyone find this one useful? I remember there were some complaints about the forums being too wide.

I personally would make them wider, and or make make the smaller avatar/signature box optional.

More extensions will take some time. And MECH, the forums are adjusted to be as wide as your screen is so idk how that would even be possible.

Update: due to problems with the Imgur extension an alternative is being used with the Postimage extension. This will make it much more convenient for people to upload screenshots without the newcomers needing to find a suitable off-site host. You can all still use your preferred image hosting site for images like Imgur or whatever else to keep track of your images under your accounts.
Added in 19 minutes 25 seconds:
It automatically generates a url and image bbcode so it's harder to mess it up, trust me!

Is there any forum extension that displays the latest message you haven't read in the forums. It would be nice instead of scrolling through the entire forums to look for goombas.
2nd and 3rd options under Quick links should cover this already.
