Not what's happening in real life in my country, but I was noticing that Pelosi is trying to make people on Twitter to join the "Impeach the racist president" group...

Long story short, the war between Ukraine and Russia is still not done

Crazy to think it started almost right after I registered on the forum.

need of two third majority in senate will prevent it anyway (presidents are protected WAY too much) and I can only hope this won't backfire for the democrats

Well our government is apparently going to start focusing more on solar panels, I'm glad they're at least beginning to do something about climate change, even if they don't realise it.

My sister will go to a 3-month abroad internship in Oxford starting around March 2020 iirc. Maybe she won't even need a visa or the like.

A 21 student got shot in the chest by traffic police. In critical condition.
Now we live in fear under the reign of the police, knowing that there may not be a chance to live yet again for tomorrow.

My country is still heading towards a potential downfall.
Could you imagine waking up on Christmas morning with only a single card, and no presents? And on that card... were a few boxes... with the names of Governmental electoral parties... And you had to go down to a hall and post your card back to them...

Basically, my country is having a Christmas Election. Merry Christmas and a happy... New Parliament?

Oh and Brexit still hasn't been finished, they haven't sorted out a deal yet, we are still in the EU. One party wants another referendum which will be made to decide between "Remain" and "No Deal". Not sure where I stand on this matter, but I'd love the opportunity for us, the public, to have another say in the matter considering the previous referendum was split 49/51.

This is fear mongering. Not all police officers are evil. Where do you live? America?

I just enjoy spending time with family on Christmas. For me it's not about gifts but about Jesus and love.

I do see your point though. They should not be having an election on Christmas. Your country has had a lot of problems trying to make "brexit" work. I wonder if they will ever work it out?

I'm sorry. I could not see her location and I did look but I never checked his/her profile.

That makes perfect sense now. I actually saw the news story where the Hong Kong police shot that guy. Very scary what is happening in Hong Kong with tensions high on both sides.

Update: Police stormed in a university and spray 1000 tear gases there. Theories that they are trying to get something like the media channel core or something. It is basically like the channel between the information flowing from the outside world to my homeland. If they get their hands on it, people here will have no access to the information outside, media from outside will have no channel to talk about my homeland. We will have no internet access, meaning that all types of channels will be disabled if fallen into wrong hands. It is kind of a dictator move there.

A huge part of Australia was on fire the other day, in so many places. Smoke was everywhere and that sucked. I only hope that bushfires eventually stop being so intense, though with human impact being a big effect, I honestly doubt that things will change anytime soon...
