They definitely have something planned. It is incredibly stupid to get rid of VC especially here on the switch there portable console. More will probably be said at E3 (possibly).

You know that they are going to eventually release all the retro games in remakes and shit right? Like, they are re-releasing the Nes classic, so...

Why should be have to by a separate console just to play old games that were put onto the main current consoles before the Switch.

Yeah, I know. It's happening with all other mediums too. Nintendo is retiring virtual console in favor of a subscription service, iTunes is going to discontinue music purchases and you'll have to buy a subscription to Apple Music, etc.

Well, I'm going to play all of my favorite classics on my Wii U before I sell it and get a Nintendo Switch. It sucks that they got rid of VC......

Probably not. It is being discontinued on the Wii, so don't expect it to still be on 3DS in 5 or 10 years from now.

Pff. I lost mine, and I've been wanting to replace it. But I've played like ALL of the games they made for it, and sadly Nintendo hasn't announced the next one in the making. I guess the Switch is kind of like a DS (with it being portable and all) but I'm more of a retro guy.

When I was younger I got a DS Lite, which I lost. Then I got a DSi, which I also lost. Then I got a 2DS, which came very close to being thrown out in the trash, for I left it in a happy meal bag.

At this point most of the people who have had a 3DS lost or broke it and never replaced it because the switch came.

Exactly... I don't want to keep my Wii U or 3DS around just so I can play old video games. The lack of VC on the switch is a real disappointment for me.
