[SMBX 1.3.0.1] Super Mario Iliad (DEMO RELEASED!)

Super Mario Iliad is a SMW-inspired episode starring five daring heroes:
Mario, Luigi, Toad, Toadette, and Link!
Join them on a quest through 8 Worlds, seeing sights and foes unimaginable!
Will you be able to collect the 6 Wish Gems and save Princess Peach from the evil Bowser?
Story:
In the familiar territory of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi were headed to Princess Peach's castle for a party. Upon going inside, Peach, Toad, and Toadette were there to welcome them.
"I'm so glad you came," said Princess Peach, giving Mario a big hug. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a bright, shining stone.
"This is one of the 8 wish gems scattered across the world. It came from the sky and crashed down near a pipe in the forest." she said.
Mario was very intrigued. "Let's go see if there's more that pipe!"
Just as they entered the forest clearing where the pipe was held, Bowser had sprung out and snatched Princess Peach. He laughed an evil laugh and threw his claws in the air.
"Bwahahahaha! Now that I have your wish gem, I can conquer the Wishing World and make it one of my own!"
The bushes beside Bowser started rustling. Footsteps were heard clamoring behind them. Then, from out of nowhere, Link shot out from the bushes!
Bowser scoffed. "Oh, now YOU plan to take the Wish Gems? They can only be used by a pure heart, idiot! That's why I'm taking this damsel and getting out of here!"
He took Peach and jumped into the pipe, leaving Mario and friends behind.
Immediately, Luigi turned to Mario.
"We gotta find the Princess!" he said, turning to face his brother.
Luigi nodded and looked at the two toads and the knight.
"And YOU gotta help us," he said with a determined look in his eye.
Toad nodded. "You got it, Mario Bros!"
They hopped down the pipe and their journey began.

My impetus for naming it Super Mario Iliad is because there are two stories called The Iliad and The Odyssey. Since Super Mario Odyssey already exists, I named it Iliad.

Again, I had the exact same idea of naming it after the story of the Lliad as well. But the story of my episode rather sucked.
EDIT: I will rework mine into a way different episode;
Actually the only problem I have is with Forest, is that the grass looks out of place, compared to the rest of the tileset. You could recolor the bush tiles to match the grass though. Just a minor complaint.

I agree. I thought maybe it would fit considering it's from Yoshi's Island, but it just doesn't do the job. It should be fixed by the time the demo releases.

Expected more images by tomorrow with a demo the day after.
Also, I couldn't help but adding that reference in there. Despite it's age, it still continues to be humorous.

This might be something I'm interested in, are the other player graphics SMW styled? I'm curious how Toad and Toadette will look like (unless you plan on using the SMW Toad based from SMM).

Updated the pictures to match some changes I've made from helpful tips and criticisms. Each playable character is present in one of the five screenshots, although I got my cursor in the Toadette one.
Changed my mind on the demo. It's most likely going to have 3 worlds unless I decide it's not ready yet.

Btw, Link's tunic is a slightly different green from his hat.

Btw, I don't know if fairy link and fire link will include the hat colors from the original game (fairy link having a yellow hat, and fire link having a purple hat).

His LTTP palettes are incorporated into his powerups, yes.

Demo should be out later with 2 worlds. I can tell you're a Zelda fan, so from one Zelda fan to another, let me say that there's a big surprise in store for one of the levels in the full game.

So yeah, you actually placed Link's tunic color as his hat color. His tunic color is now his hat color.
Btw, when on the world map, Toadette needs to have one foot either a block (2x2 pixel) downwards, or her other foot a block upwards. Since when she walks down, it's just a still graphic of Toadette.
Also, it's possible to softlock in the fight with Wario, I suggest covering up the left wall so that if he goes over there, he doesn't get despawned.
Also, when triggering events like in the first 2 levels that have Wario, you can just use an invisible SMB1 axe to trigger events.
If a red goomba is killed besides being stomped, the effect is the original red goomba sprite.

1. My bad! I'll reverse it right now.
2. Just encountered that. Will fix.
3. I plan to make the coins invisible, and if I'm not mistaken, the axes can't float in the air like coins.
