Name Your Favorite Mario Character

2 rules:

1. It can't be any character who's made an appearance (not as an easter egg, e.g. Mario characters appearing in the windows in Oot or in the audience during the Dedede fight in Kirby Superstar) in a different franchise (e.g. Sonic, Link, Villager etc.)

2. They need to have at least been in a main series game (side character or not), so characters who were hosts of Mario Party only are excluded.

Mario as always.
He may have a couple of flaws but it's up what the player thinks about him. Some people thought that he had 0 personality especially in Brawl since he doesn't even cracked a single smile (though he does.. I think) but we don't talk about Mario related franchises. Despite his usual seen angry expressions in some box-art cover and even in-game, he still smiles in some part. Kinda like how they did with Kirby (box-art cover.. in game.. et cetera).

My second favorite character is Toad for their humor, voice-acting and their cuteness. I still don't know what makes them to look like they're trying to annoy the player or it's just my opinion.

Red Goomba from Super Mario Maker.

Regular enemies are usually only there to stop you but when they become playable and/or are given a story,
a reason for being there, it can be something special. (As long as they are not involved in a certain "friendship is magic"-story of certain overrated game.) As iconic as the main cast is... I feel like breaking the mold here.

Think about this: the first Goomba of SMB 1-1 sending Bowser to lava for being stuck with the worst job in the Mushroom Kingdom. Because why not?
That's how I like to think of Red Goomba.

My favorite Mario character is-a da janitor of the Mushroom Kingdom himself! It is-a him, Eario!

I've always liked both Waluigi and Rosalina. Rosalina was one of the main characters in Mario Galaxy, which will probably always be my favorite Mario game (mostly for nostalgia reasons though). Plus she's a female Mario character that isn't just getting captured, which is kinda nice
