I need help: How to make a good world map

I am trying to make my first episode, but I don't know how to make good SMW World Maps.
Square/Rectangle like platforms work, but more complex shapes or islands like in the original games don't work, because there are no corners.

What can I put in there?
I can't find corners for that.

Use a different corner piece, there is more than that one

I don't think they have corner tiles like that in vanilla, but you could always try adding custom graphics.

Either just use that grass tile, or use custom GFXs (the SMW expanded pack offers more tiles that may fix cut-offs when you build a SMW map, and offers other stuff as well).
