Download Speed slowed Down

Kinda a strange thing to have but like a month or so I could download a File (SMBX Levels, Episodes and so on) on a regular speed (like seconds to a few minutes) but right now, for no reason it has been slowed down (like a lot of seconds to a lot of minutes).

Example for a slowed down Download: A File that has 34,0 MB big takes like 8 Minutes to Download

Any thoughts of this or does someone also has this like what I have?

It depends on what file hostage service the level/episode etc. is stored on. I just downloaded Return to Dinosaur Land (about 24 MB, on Dropbox) and it took like one minute for me, which is my regular speed. However, Mediafire got a lot slower. From there, I only download with ~15-30 kB/s.

Scan your system for threats like viruses and malware. Alternatively, call your ISP.

I downloaded my level "Magnetic Mayhem" at normal speed, it was fine for me. I have a PLDT MyDSL modem. If your download is slow, this is because you may have server traffic and it depends on the file host. If you have any programs that severely slow down your internet, close it.

What's your modem anyway?

Currently, after I checked every files, I do not have any Viruses or anything that infects my PC.

I think it's adsl.alicedsl.de or something like that that is directed to Alice.

Right now, I downloaded a file that is 56,1 MB big and that took me only a Minute (or maybe only like 50 Seconds) to download.

That's pretty fast, but if your experiencing slowdowns on your internet, it might be that it is being used by others, or that your ISP may have limited your bandwidth. Try contacting your ISP and see if they have done anything to your internet plan, or if they are experiencing any problems.

bossedit8: were those files downloaded from different hosts?
downloading is heavily dependent on server caps; nothing to do with your ISP, really.

Some ISPs have stupid restrictions on download speed.

Yeah, my Comcrap doesn't have restrictions, but I'm planning on dropping Comcrap because of their multitude of problems I've been experiencing. I might get some fiber-optic internet thing.

Might be an error/screw-over by your ISP. As others have said, I'd get in touch with them. I've had this kind of issue before, and this is probably the best solution.

Well thank you but right now this topic isn't even relevant anymore since that was an issue for like years back but after some time it was fixed... infact I got a different router like the main connector to the internet has been changed so I can also support WLAN (wireless) to that aswell.

I don't want this topic to be further discussed on please since this was relative to my problems of what I had back then which isn't relevant anymore.
