Chrono Trigger is overrated for me anyway. Just my opinion.

Stumbled upon another lack luster port yesterday. It's called Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, and was released for the SNES. You'd think these games would be mind blowing with the upgraded hardware, but no. I don't even like calling these remakes, they look and sound nearly identical to the original 3, even though they actually removed a few visual effects (which isn't a good thing). It doesn't even have a save feature, just a stupid password system. The controls feel a little off, but not too bad. Even the main menu feels cheap and rushed.

The only up side I can see to playing this version is that NG3 follows the Japanese release instead of the USA one, meaning it's not arbitrarily difficult.

So, what you were saying is.... Ninja Gaiden Trilogy is in between Good & Bad...

No....

The only thing it has going for it is lowered difficulty in NG3, everything else was done equally or better in the originals.

Bump Time!

Have you guys heard there's port of Mega Man II on the Sega Master System? I saw a video longplay of it, and I couldn't believe how god-awful the port was!

The graphics & character sprites in the port looks the same as the freaking original NES/Famicom version. And the sound effects and music are the only good part of the port.

P.S. I know this is a fan-made port... But why?!? o_0"

How does that make a port bad?

Because I know for a fact that the Master System is powerful enough to handle:
  • more detailed version of any NES sprites and/or Graphics
  • bit-bigger re-creations of NES sprites
  • or both!

Just because they could doesn't mean they should. The goal of that port was likely to make it as close as possible to the source material. Also, judging something just based on a longplay without actually playing it isn't a very good idea.

Did you guys know there's a Game Boy Color port of "Street Fighter Alpha: Warrior's Dream"?

I heard this port is considered to be the BEST fighting game ever made for the GBC! I'm planning on getting this game later whenever I feel like it! ^^"

Just played Donkey Kong Country on the GameBoy Color, and I freaking enjoyed it! But to be honest, it's okay port of the Super Nintendo masterpiece. ^^"

Bump!

I gonna say that the Gameboy Color port of Dragon Warrior/Quest I & II is a great port for 2 reasons:
  • It's a 2-in 1 game
  • The game can handle 56 colors on the screen if played on a actual GBC system

A kind of bad port is SMM for 3DS. It's not too bad, but not too good either. You can't search for specific online levels, you can't upload courses, there are some items that are not present, and the editor lags after a while (I think that's because of the object quantity but it also happens randomly, at least for me)

The graphics also don't look as good as the Wii U version but well that's for an obvious reason

Best port:
Spoiler: show
The SMBX port to Android if it ever reaches to exist

Probably not gonna happen, or Nintendo will find out and kill us all!

Maybe lol. But if it is distributed with .apk files instead of app stores it won't cause much trouble I think
