The Google Yeti (A gaming console by Google)

I recently heard about this gaming console a few days ago on Twitter, and I couldn't believe it! Freaking Google is making a gaming system that's gonna compete again the Nintendo Switch, the Sony Play Station 4, and the Microsoft Xbox One called the Yeti. I might not know when this gaming console is coming out, BUT how about we discuss about this.

Why did you imply in the poll that the Google console won't be "professional"? Google is already in on the multimedia market, so I don't see why them making a gaming console would be any less professional than Microsoft and Sony making one.

I don't really know tbh. I figure that some of the community members are fans of either the Xbox One, Play Station 4, or the Switch. But everyone has their own opinions. Maybe this Google console might be good.

This. I'm the kind of person who plays sporadically, so I'm more often than not going to be paying for something I'm not even using. It's like paying rent for a house you don't live in.

Same here. It's only worth using a streaming service or paying for something regularly if you're going to be using it regularly too.

I honestly don't have high hopes for the product.

Google's forte seems to be starting new projects, and not really doing much with it afterwards. As the article pointed out, Google has tried similar gaming projects like this in the past - all of which had been cancelled before fruition. This makes me concerned as to whether or not they'll go through with it this time. However, Phil Harrison's involvement with Google does give this project some promising legs to stand on, and considering their work on the Chromebooks and Pixel phones in recent years, I have no doubt that if they ever do release the console, it will at least have promising specs. That being said, what's really going to make or break this rumoured console is going to be the quality of the software. If they fail to deliver quality exclusives, there will be no incentive to purchase this device.

Overall, while these rumours do have some merit, I still have my prevailing doubts.

and it was somewhat successful for a few years, But after the few years, the Apple game console was dominated by some of the more successful consoles, like the NES
