So, I was making a SMB1 theme for the forums using the template Joey provided, but I've run into a bit of a problem. You see, the the goomba and coin icons are animated GIFs, and I'm not sure how you can edit those properly (Being able to edit any other frame than the first) in Paint.net, if it's even possible, so I'd really like to know how you can do that and if it's even possible in Paint.net.

It wouldn't hard to look up a "How to" video of how to edit GIFs in Paint.net on YouTube. But if you have no luck, try Photoshop

It's not possible to do so in Paint.Net unfortunately. But.. I'm a 28% assume that GIMP should be able to do that but still, not sure if it does because I have no idea how to use GIMP.

Pirated Photoshop is free Afaik there's a plug-in for editing animated .gifs in Paint.net

I can't remember where I got it but afaik it's Midora or something

As a possible alternative, Aseprite is great for animating sprites. It's $15 but it's well worth the cost. Also GraphicsGale -- last version I tried wasn't as good as Aseprite imo but it's still very capable software and it's completely free.
