I guess Nintendo don't know how they should implement the fake item box, which may be why 7 and 8 don't have them.

The Thunder Cloud from the Mario Kart series. Sure it can be helpful, but an item that has a ticking timer over your head the moment you activate causes a lot of stress and doesn't really help the player that much.

I know really, I wish the team would scrap this pathetic item from Mario Kart Wii and later... :?

Talking about crappiest MK items:

The Blooper from MK DS

It's useless no matter if you are in CPU or multiplayer

Mario Kart Wii was the only one with the thunder cloud.

Triple items in Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe). They protect you from things like shells for the most part, but:
a) They will be dropped/destroyed if they touch an obstacle like a crate, etc.
b) Sometimes you can get hit by red shells even if you still have all three of the items spinning around you. Not likely to occur but it happens more often than it should.

i think Thunder Cloud was replaced with Lightning in MK8, the Lightning power-up angers me so much, as i am in 1st place, doing well, then i get struck by it, and lose so many places

X-ray in Super Metroid. All it does is, make you see through walls. And it's super painful to beat the room before you unlock it.

I unlocked it but I had to go through the room again with 5 hp. When I died, I lost my reserve tank, ice beam and I returned to last saved checkpoint before beating crocomire. That's why I had to quit the game.

Well to be fair It would kind of be unfair if your entire screen was blacked out. They should just increase the amount of ink or even use the blooper for some other purpose like invert the controls.

More ink won't make the blooper better. It's useless unless you play in multiplayer because others players are motherf*ckers in the multiplayer

The Copper Shortsword in Terraria. It sucks against anything that isn't grounded and does 5 damage. Comparativly, the Wooden Sword, a weapon that you can get very quickly after starting the game, does 7 damage and is more useful against both grounded and flying foes. The other shortswords aren't much better, as all of them have the same flaws as the Copper Shortsword.

Also Poison Mushrooms. They hurt you. That's all that needs to be said.
