Mafia is closed.

The GMs have come to a unanimous agreement, supported by the staff, to discontinue SMBX Mafia for the time being.
This is not a punishment toward the community for any specific events that have occurred recently, but rather a decision we have come to after observing a steady decline in interest for SMBX Mafia. Activity has been decreasing for a very long time, and even when there is activity, there has been a significant decrease in the amount of meaningful gameplay, such as attempting to gain leads via interrogations and private communications between townspeople.
Probably because of this, the Mafia player base has been greatly diminished over the past months, and it seems unlikely to return in the foreseeable future due to the lack of interest from many players.
Again, none of this is the fault of any specific game, host, or player, but we have determined that the community has come to the end of its Mafia career. It might return in the future if the community expresses enough interest, but that doesn't seem particularly likely at the moment.
Thanks to everyone who has played and hosted, and brought your awesome games to the community up to this point. From all of the GMs and staff to you: You've been great. There are a lot of great sites to play Mafia out there, so maybe we'll see you around.
