I've been working on a few levels over the past few days for a level pack but after looking back at a few I noticed that a few of the backgrounds are gone. (The most common being water from Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Does anybody have a fix for this?

I never heard of this happening anywhere else before. Could you describe more detail of what is happening, what version are you using?

I'm using the most recent version of SMBX, 1.3.0.1. The background blocks were placed, but now they're nowhere to be found. Here, I'll supply a screenshot:

In addition to all of this happening in my levels, whenever I open levels like The Invasion 2, monst background objects, like doors, are completely missing in levels.

That is strange. Try 2.0 beta 3 (that is the latest version of SMBX) and see if that fixes the issue. Does it happen in-game or the editor.

It happens in both, and can I transfer levels from the the version I'm using to the newest version?

You can transfer it to 2.0 with almost no problem (if you used dummy NPCs, blocks etc (which you probably did not if you are still using the legacy editor) then there will be behavoir problems as these were used to add new features in 2.0). If you transfer it to 1.4.4 (which is worse in most ways) then there is no guarantee it will work probably, so 2.0 will be the best version for you.
