how do I change the costume of a character also how do I use the normal character and the costume as p1 and p2 thx for reading

Well, you could use cheats to do it. That's one way. The issue with that is that you can't do that with any of the 2.0 characters as there is no cheat for them.

There are in fact cheats for all of the SMBX2 characters. The issue with making both players the same new character is just compatibility issues with two-player in Beta3 which will be fixed in the future

jumpman replaces ahippinandahoppin
holytrinity replaces shadowstar
theessentials is a combination of shadowstar/holytrinity, sonicstooslow, and ahippinandahoppin/jumpman

I'm pretty sure iamerror is replaced with herooftime, but it's not mentioned in the video.

Nothing is replaced. All of the old cheats are still valid. And I don't think all of those are correct. Iirc holytrinity is donthurtme + jumpman + shadowstar and theessentials is holytrinity + sonictooslow
