Kirch looked into his sister's lifeless eyes. Falling on his knees, he began to weep. He shouted in a mix of sadness and anger “This isn't happening, this isn't happening, this isn't happening. Why have you forsaken me?”. The world began to spiral around him.
“Kirch! We're going to be late!”. He recognized his sister's voice instantly, snapping out of his dream he yawned and sat up from his bed. “Could you remind me what for?”. Liebe shouted “For the parade of kings, Lord Euclid himself is gonna be there!”. He groaned “All right, I'm getting up”. She shouted “You better be down stairs in 5 minutes tops, or I'm leaving without you!”. Throwing on an old shirt and a pair of pants, he made his way downstairs in haste. She was standing at the door shoulders crossed, tapping her foot impatiently. She said “Took you long enough”. A smile lit up her face as she took his hand and bolted out the door, down the alley towards the main street. People were already gathered along the edges of the street cheering as the parade traveled by them. The parade was made up of statues of mythical heroes carrying weapons of legend. Liebe looked on in awe as the king himself passed by them, waving with a smile. To his left sat his daughter, Amytis Beauvoir and to his right was his son, Voltaire Beauvoir. Just as quickly as it had arrived, the parade had passed them. Suddenly, the parade came to a halt. The pair looked on curiously, when the king fell from his chair covered in blood. Screaming ensued as people began to panic and run from the scene. A tall man donning a general's uniform stepped over the body. Taking a sword from his belt, he stabbed the king in the chest. Taking his sister's hand he raced back down the alley, running inside he slammed the door and locked it. He shouted “Grab anything you think you might need and do it quick. We are leaving”. She asked with a frightened look on her face “Why? What has happened?”. Kirch said “You saw it yourself, the king has been killed. We need to leave now before things get bad”. Taking various food items, clothing, and medicine, the siblings made their way back down the alley to the main street. To their surprise, a speech was being held. Kirch recognized the person speaking as the same man who had killed the king only moments ago. He spoke from the center of a large crowd “People of New Adams, it was I, general Moliere de Sade who took out that old hag you called king. I know you all have many question, but please keep in mind this was for the best of our society. Under my rule we will unite Euclid with all of our neighboring countries. I promise to launch an era of peace and unity at any means necessary. Do not oppose me and you will not be harmed”. Kirch tightened his grip on her hand and made his way to the gate of the city.
