Hi everyone
This is my first message i didn't find a topic to " introduce yourself "
First, nice to meet anyone of you. I'm French so i'll try my best to be understood
Second, main subject :
I just installed the beta of SMBX and i have few questions and maybe u can reply
1 : is it possible and if yes, how can i add the most of background and any graphics design to the editor level ? Will i have to choose or can we add without limit ?
2 : is there a topic for a tutorial to explain everything about the editor level ? ( Even in English i dont care )
3 : is there any patch or dlc like i could miss when i downloaded SMBX 2.0 beta ? i'm actually on patch 2.0 and maybe i missed the 2.1 or something else...
4 : Is that possible to find a patch or something to translate in french ?
if i have anothers questions, i will write there to not spam the forum

1). Yes, but you might have to make the custom graphics yourself tho.
2). Yes, it's in the general forums
3). No, there's no DLC in SMBX 2.0
4). No, this is a English speaking forums.

Not all of this is completely true.
1. To add custom graphics you need to place the files within the same folder. They have to replace a pre-existing graphic so there is a limit. There are literally hundreds of these though so don't worry. You can download graphics from the Graphics forum or make/rip your own.
2. This thread should help with learning the editor in general: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10507
3. SMBX2 Beta 3 is the most recent version; there aren't any DLCs.
4. Yes, This is an English-speaking forum however there are full translations in progress for the editor

Okay thanks guys so now my question is about foreground...
What is the utility of foreground-2 ? i guess that foreground-1 is to make so secret ways or warps but i dont understand for the second foreground... If u have some any exemples it can be usefull for me with some screenshots or pictures of edited levels. I didnt started to make some levels i just wanna try to understand for the moment the software.

Uhhh... I don't know what you're looking at but there's no such thing as "foreground-1". You also mentioned a "patch 2.0", which... doesn't exist. I'm starting to think you may have accidentally installed SMBX38A, and not SMBX2. SMBX38A (also sometimes called SMBX 1.4) is not a version of SMBX but a different engine that looks kind of similar.
Make sure you get SMBX2 from howikawaotane.com/smbx.

Ah. That's not part of SMBX2, that's for PGE. It does nothing in SMBX2.

So if i have understood. Foreground-2 is useless ?
Other question, is that possible to put a double power-up taking into account of mario ( exemple : if mario > the power up is a mushroom, if super-mario > the power up is a leaf or flower or ice flower ... ) ?

If you put a 2nd-tier powerup in a box, it'll come out as a mushroom if Mario is small.

there's no thing such as a program; you can choose multiple languages from the help menu

Wdym? French is there. And I mean that the translations are a little bit awkward as you could expect from computer translations but I guess everything will still be clearly understandable.

If no mushroom comes out of a double-powerup block then you are using the wrong tester. Press F5 instead of using alpha tester.
