M44: Midnight on the Docks Post-Game

Postby Danny » Sun Sep 24, 2017 7:00 pm

M44: Midnight on the Docks
17 players
Cardflip
Town wins if all the werewolves and The Stranger are killed.
Werewolves win if the number of surviving town members equals or is less than the number of surviving werewolves.
The Stranger wins if all of the werewolves and all of the specials are killed.
Lynch votes must be in red. Bolding is optional but highly recommended.

In the peaceful seaside town of Blackwater, a murder strikes every midnight. The townsfolk have become aware that this murder is not committed by any man, and so the rumors of werewolves have spread. Paranoid and fearful of this invisible threat, the townsfolk have rallied, being wary of one another, including the strange, robed visitor that has come to the town. No one is innocent, not until proven otherwise... how will the town hold up against the dangers of the night?

Werewolves
Werewolf: Decides with the other Werewolves on who to kill each night.
Werewolf
Werewolf
Half-Lycanthrope: Decides with the other Werewolves on who to kill each night. Cardflips green when inspected or killed. During each Night phase, the Half-Lycanthrope may choose one of two things that will happen when he would die during the night.
1. He saves himself and becomes a regular Werewolf, cardflipping red upon inspection and death and losing all other special abilities.
2. When he chooses this ability, he must also pick a player. That player will die when the Half-Lycanthrope dies.

Town
Seer: May inspect a player each night, learning their color.
Acolyte: Acts as a normal Townsfolk, but becomes the Seer when the current Seer dies.
Gravekeeper: May inspect a dead player each night, learning their role.
Priest: May save a player from death each night.
Huntsman: May kill a player once per night.
Lover: Acts as a normal Townsfolk, but is in contact with the other Lover.
Lover
Townsfolk: Can vote to lynch a player each day.
Townsfolk
Townsfolk
Townsfolk
Madman: Acts as a normal Townsfolk, but cardflips red upon inspection and death. Is aware that they're the Madman.

Third Party
The Stranger: Can kill a player once per night. Alongside being able to kill a player, he may choose one of three abilities each night.
1. He can don a disguise and paint himself green for the Day phase. This disguise wears off the next Night phase.
2. He can place a mysterious ward on himself. If he would die during this Night phase, he may save himself.
3. Once throughout the entire game he may use this ability, invoking the anger of the Old Gods and crashing a wave into the village. This ability roleblocks every single player (not including The Stranger), and kills off a player chosen at random (also not including the Stranger or the Stranger's original kill target). Once this ability is used, The Stranger cannot make a kill during the following Night phase, although he can still use one of his other two abilities.

1. Pseudo (Werewolf, died Night 1)
2. TLtimelord (Townsfolk, died Night 2)
3. Nanaya Jacob (Townsfolk)
4. Zeldamaster12 (Lover, died Night 2)
5. MECHDRAGON777 (Gravekeeper, died Night 4)
6. ShadowStarX (Acolyte, became Seer, died Night 3)
7. Electriking (Priest, died Day 2)
8. Cedur (Townsfolk, died Night 1)

10. glitch4 (Werewolf, died Night 4)

13. Warlock (Huntsman)

Player Analysis
Spoiler: show
Pseudo: You got rekt night 1 sorry :(
xDestroy: Not sure what to say about your performance. You were active, but you made some questionable decisions and said some off-key things that lead to your death. New player, but you did pretty good for the most part.
glitch4: Barely active, gave a few suggestions to your team, only jumped onto bandwagons. Is this your strategy?
116taj: Pretty good for a new player, and you ultimately lead your team. Rngesus was not in your favor in the end sadly.
Sanct: BECAUSE NOBODY VOTE DAY 1 YOU DIED TO RNGESUS.
ShadowStarX: Not really much to say about your performance. You were active, but missed an inspection.
MECHDRAGON777: Made some questionable plays and I'm not sure if your inspections really did too much, but you did help out the town a great ton.
Electriking: Didn't protect anyone and you died fairly early, not much to say.
Warlock: Fairly impressed by your performance, though some of your kills were pretty risky, your kill on Pseudo was crazy.
Zeldamaster12: Not really sure what to say about your performance because you died early, but as far as I'm aware you and the other Lover said absolutely nothing to each other.
TheDinoKing: Incredibly inactive in the early game, and as far as I'm aware you and the other Lover never said a word to each other, which defeats the purpose of the role. Survived until the end though, but try to be more active next time.
TLtimelord: You actually tried to lead the town and gather some evidence through interrogations, and you did pretty great, except you died early on, which is a bummer.
Nanaya Jacob: Pretty decent playing, not really too much to say except that you survived until the end.
Witchking666: Ripperoni
Cedur: Night 1 deaths suck
Frad: Not really that active at all, not much to say about your performance really.
thehelmetguy1: Easily MVP of the game, I was secretly rooting for you the whole way, you really got there up until the end. Nice plays, and no one suspected you at all.
Overall, this game was pretty enjoyable, except the early phases really sucked for inactivity. More activity would be great, and it adds to the longevity of Mafia and to a more enjoyable, fun experience. Hopefully everyone enjoyed my hosting even through the weird phase lengths towards the end, and I hope I can host for you guys again.

The Old Gods do not enjoy losing the most devoted of their followers...

GG. I really liked this game, and day 4 was really intense because Jacob's vote decided the game. I wish RNGesus didn't kill off 75% of the mafia. :(

Correcting you Danny, TNT was the only person that suspected me.

In any case, this game is possibly my favorite mafia game. Being a TP is great, and I really want to be one again.

Now, though watching games isn't as fun as playing them, still going to give my two cents on the game.

Now, first of all, the inactivity in the first half of the game was ATROCIOUS. the fact that this inactivity alone was going to pull the plug on mafia here if it didn't change(your not going to do that right?) was just absurd.

AS WE KEEP SAYING, GUYS, DON'T AND I REPEAT, DON'T JOIN IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON ACTUALLY BEING ACTIVE.

However, I'll say, and you may not believe me, I had a feeling Warlock was the huntsman from day 2 of the game, and I'm shocked that I was right.

If your curious Who I was rooting for, it was actually the same person that Danny Was rooting for, thehelmetguy1. I was hoping the TP could win, but I guess It's not always the case though.

I could go on, but basically, atrocious inactivity in first half, and finally actual activity in the second, and though I didn't play, gg.

The only thing I said to Zeldamaster was that I thought xdestroy might be the vig.
Too bad he got killed early, so I didn't get to use my role much.

I guess I used my role by making Mech inspect zeldamaster in order to prove that I was the other lover.

Warlock kinda just claimed to me that he was the vig. Not sure why, but he trusted me to tell me he was blue (and therefore a mafia target) but didn't trust me enough to honestly tell me who he killed. Almost caused a town lost.

Overall, I agree that thg1 should have deserve mvp.

That is bullcrap, mafia was being considered shut down for good because of the inactivity here along with other games, infact, almost half the players were inactive, so sorry, this isn't true.

From a mostly-spectator's point of view this game was pretty exciting actually, at least the second half. Those last few phases really picked up with good activity.

Some people seemed really dead set on the idea of a vigi kill Night 1, and I was absolutely convinced that the TP used their 3rd ability immediately. To be honest, that would have been a really interesting move because it both minimizes the chance of getting killed by the werewolves, and it would also have left the town specials with absolutely zero information. I was quite surprised upon thg1 telling me that the vigi indeed killed N1.
