i don't even know you and the only operating systems i've used are windows xp, 7, and 10 and i'm not a tech nerd enough to know any differences between them

thanks, the ping feature is actually wholly unnecessary because anyone who cares about being responded to would be manually checking their own posts and visited threads for responses

You can disable it. And some people don't have the time to manually check for responses.
