We're looking for your quality mafia hosting skills and your quality mafia games for our next game!
You've seen Mafia.
You've played Mafia.
Now, it might just be your time to host some Mafia!
How do I apply?
All you need to do is post your game suggestion in this topic!
However, you must have participated in at least one mafia game in order to host a game.
After you have posted, your two Game Masters, Pseudo and I, will edit your post and respond in green at the bottom if we approve.
If we have comments or changes that we recommend, we will edit in red.
Optional suggestions may be in yellow or orange.
Tips to Remember:
Each user may only submit one game, so choose wisely!
Your game should contain around 15-20 players.
Have about 1 mafia member for each 4-5 townies.
Your game doesn't need to be overly complex to be fun and interesting. Sometimes a good combination of roles can produce a better result.
Don't try to go overboard with the custom roles! You don't need to change the entire theme of your game for it to be interesting.

The Malfunctioned Bots Strike Back! “A sequel to Malfunctioned Bots”
4 Mafia, 13 Town, 1 TP
18 Players

Malfunctioning Bots
When they've decided a kill target, they must also agree who'll visit their target to make the kill
Interceptor Bot: Can select a player each night, to direct any abilites used on them to another player of their choice, can't select teammates.
Titanium Bot: Immune to nightkills.
Painter Bot: Can paint a player red, green, or black each night, causing that player to flip that color the next day phase, painting will wear off the next night.
Seeker Bot: Can watch a player each night to learn who visited them.
The Town
Multi-Purpose Proper Bot: They can choose from multiple actions but can only select one of the 3 each night:
1. Can Inspect a player to learn their color
2. Can go on alert, killing all visitors, can be done twice in the game.
3. Can kill a player.
Technician Cop: Can jail a player each night to protect them from abilites and nightkills, but roleblock them at the same time. In the case of Bots, he deactivates them for a night, and hides them in storage, which has the same effect.
Blacksmith: Can give a player a hammer four times in the game.
Detector Bot: They can watch a player on their radars each night to learn who visited them.
Twin Bot #1: Flips blue, is in contact with the other twin bot
Twin Bot #2: Flips red due to having mischievous behavior, in contact with the other twin bot. Will survive one nightkill.

The Technological Hacker
Hacker: They are immune to nightkills thanks to doing their work in secret and can choose between several actions each night
1. They can kill a player.
2. Can inspect a player to learn their color, can be done the same night they kill a player.
3. They can twice in the game try to hack into a Bot, If successful, they’ll be converted into a Reprogrammed Bot, They can choose to reprogram them with a Rigger Module, Painting Module, or Kamikaze Module. he can’t reprogram malfunctioned bots. They also have to use this a separate night from their other two abilities.
Reprogrammed Bot: This role doesn't exist at the beginning of the game, upon being converted,
the hacker can choose between three different ways to hack into them:
Rigger Module - Their votes count for 2
Painting Module - They can paint a player orange each night making them flip that color next day phase, painting wears off the next night.
Kamikaze Module - They can choose to self-destruct on a night, killing themselves, their target and all their vistors, ignoring all protection and if protected killing the protector as well. Can only make one.
Hammer
A Player with this can beat/smash someone to death once, but only during the night phase.
Win Condtions:
Malfunctioned Bots: Even or Outnumber the town and kill the Technological Hacker
The Town: Kill all the Malfunctioning Bots and The Technological Hacker
The Technological Hacker: Be the last player or team standing.

You are a cop who’s also a technician, you are the Technician Cop! Each night, you can jail a player, protecting them from abilities as well as nightkills, however, they’ll be roleblocked. With bots, you instead deactivate them and put them in storage, which has the same effect.

You’re a civilian of the town, you’re a Townsperson! You don’t have any special abilities meaning all that you have is your wits and deduction. You may be the Inventor or the Nerd, but you can’t know for sure.
Your goal is to kill all the malfunctioning bots and The Technological Hacker, good luck!
You’re a Smart-Alek of tech, you’re the Hacker! As you do your work in secret, you can’t be killed at night, and there are several things you can do each night:
1. You can grab your hammer and visit a player and kill them with it.
2. You can inspect a player to learn of their color, can be used the same night as ability 1.
3. Twice in the game you can try to hack into one of the Bots, if successful, they’ll be converted into a Reprogrammed Bot and do your bidding, When your about to reprogram them, you’ll also have to choose a module to program them with, you can choose between three different ones, a Rigger Module, Painting Module, or a Kamikaze Module. However, you can’t reprogram bots that are malfunctioning and also have to use this on a separate night from your other two abilities.
The three modules that can be installed in a bot do the following:
Rigger Module – Will count their votes as 2

Catch the bandits! We have nice rewards for you!

Bandits
Head Bandit: major bandit who does the killing
Spy Bandit: investigates a player to find out their color or money/items
Blacksmoke Bandit: can cover someone in smoke so the sheriff and agent don't get a result on them. can use this on a teammate once in the game.
Junior Bandit: can choose to cardflip red, green or blue for the current night and following day.
If the head bandit dies, the next living bandit (spy taking precedence over blacksmoke) takes their place while keeping their original ability.
Good Town
Sheriff: investigates for color but not money/items
Undercover Agent: can track a person to check who's visiting them.
Barkeeper: keeps someone at their bar to protect them from mafia inspection or blacksmoking. Can't use on self.
Autopsier: can find out the exact role or money/items of a dead player at night.
Twin brother: knows the other twin brother, but they also die together. can receive bounty cash

Bounty mechanic: If a bandit or miller is successfully lynched, a bounty payout will be split among all non-blue townspersons (twins, townies, millers). The prize found is:
- 100 token if at least 13 players are alive
- 80 token if at least 7 players are alive
- 60 token if at most 6 players are alive
However, it will be divided by the TOTAL amounts of votes on the lynched, including mafia's and special's votes! So be sure to not vote too much.
The mafia members receive half of what the vanilla townies do, and they can only buy ballots and serums.
If the Junior Bandit is lynched while cardflipping red, the bounty will be paid out as normal, but any item bought in the following night will be secretly disabled.
There's no bounty payout when a red dies at night.
The following items can be purchased, with immediate use in the same night being allowed.
Ballot - 10 token: gain an extra vote
Serum - 20 token: protect someone else from the head bandit's nightkill.
Gun - 30 token: do vigilante justice and kill someone yourself.
Halo - 30 token: If you're not a miller, you reveal your confirmed innocence at phase change from night to day. If you're a miller, you turn into a normal townie.

I do think I should mention, though, that the Halo probably isn't as good as it looks - revealing yourself as confirmed innocent is pretty risky, especially in a game that has no doctor. You don't have to change anything about this though, just think you should keep this in mind.

I would like to mention that this bounty mechanic might be slightly complex and confusing for newer players, and while I didn't exactly specify anywhere to encourage hosts make their games for M42 geared towards introducing newer players into Mafia, I would like to see this be the focus for M42 and potentially M43.

Godfather: A mafioso who cardflips green upon death and inspection.
Consort: Can distract a player each night in order to roleblock them. The target will be notified if successful.
Doublespeaker: May fake his vote in the thread by voting via ballot-box. When using this ability, his vote in the thread won't count.
Bandit Crew
Hitman: Can violently beat up a player each night to make them unable to move and speak for the following day.
Kamikaze: Can blow himself up as well as a player of his choice. This attack goes through protection. Cannot be roleblocked.
Poacher: Can survive a single nightkill attempt.
Town
Sheriff: Can inspect a player each night to learn their color. May also inspect a player twice to learn their exact role.
Doctor: Can protect a player from nightkills each night.
Vigilante: Can kill a player each night. If he kills an innocent, he'll be voteblocked for the following day.
Dissector: Can anatomize a dead player each day to learn their exact role.
Graverobber: Assumes the role of the town special that dies the earliest of the 4. Their cardflip color changes to blue after receiving an ability.

- If the Town is completely eliminated but both Mafias are alive, the one with the more alive players will win. If the amount of them is equal, the game will end as a tie.
- If multiple blues die at once, the Graverobber gets to handpick the role he wants.
- If the Doublespeaker is targetted by the Hitman, he will be voteblocked like anyone else.
- The Vigilante won't be voteblocked upon killing the Miller, Millwright or powerless Graverobber.
- If the Dissector is roleblocked by the Consort, they'll be notified about it at the start of the day.

The Beast - The only truck takes someone hostage every night, reblocking and inspecting at the same time. It can be only do it at once.
Rusty Truck - It can use smoke in case the police racers finds them.
The Jaws - the only truck investigates to find the player/racer.
Boulder - The truck only does is to kill/crush the player only at night.
Team 2 - Heroes
Police Car - Jails only the Monster Trucks each night they can only do it at once.
The Brown Car - The only car inspects one night and to learn their cardflips.
Ambulance - The only car that can protect one player each night to always prevent them for being killed/crush by the monster trucks.
Hovercraft - Can find out the exact dead players/racers.
Team 3 - The Oldies

ILOVEYOU An email based virus that is so common that it is immune to nightkills
Zeus A trojan virus, appears to be a normal file when Inspected
Conficker Its name comes from the English word, configure and a German pejorative, it`s a malware virus, so it can cause ads to pop up and prevent a player from using their ability
CIH The Chernobyl virus (also known as CIH) triggers on April 26th each year, the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. It overwrites a chip inside a PC effectively paralysing the entire computer, In game it just makes players unable to vote the next day
Biological Viruses (wins by elminating computer viruses)
White Blood Cell It can kill one player each night,ironically looses it's abilty for a day if it kills a biological virus
Red Blood Cell Can protect a player each night
Immune System Can infect (it's a pun, don't panic) a player to learn their colour
Sensitive Immune System Can inspect a player each night, but red and green colours are flipped, thinks they're immune system
Supervirus Simply a virus that can't be killed by the white blood cell
Cas9 A CRISPR thingy,can see who has visited a player
Common Cold There are 200 different strains of cold, Which is why it's the equalvent of a townie

Cardflip - There is no roleflip here
Corruption - Viruses may choose to recruit (or corrupt if you prefer) a player into joining their team during the night, They do not get two kills if they recruit a killing role, and they can only recruit one person,ever.

along with what everyone else has said, Most of these roles are extremely vague and don't clarify on alot of details and don't even make sense. Also, chance should almost NEVER be a factor in mafia unless it's something that doesn't change much. What i mean is this game needs alot of work i feel.

Mafia 42: Town of HUMANS
Format: Last Wills / Cardflip - 17 Players
Mafia
Forger: Can forge one player's will each night, replacing it with up to 300 characters of Forger-written text if the targeted player dies or is notarized before the next night. Cannot forge the will of the mafia's kill target.
Disguiser: Can disguise himself as one player each night, taking on the target's cardflip color if inspected or killed on the same night.
Consort: Can block one player's ability each night. The target will be notified if it's successful.
Mortician: Once throughout the whole game, can destroy a player's last will during the night, preventing the will from being released if that player dies on the same night.
Townspeople
Mayor: Once throughout the whole game, can plan to reveal her identity to the public on the next morning. This also changes her cardflip color to blue and makes her votes count three times as much as the other players.
Sheriff: Can inspect one player each night and learn their cardflip color.
Bodyguard: Can stand guard outside someone's house each night. If that player is to be killed, the Bodyguard will take the bullet instead. A message will be displayed if the Bodyguard sacrifices himself.
Vigilante: Can kill one player each night.
Notary: Can read one player's will each night.

The mafia leader had enough of the town and reveals himself to the public, but despite being lonely he has many ways of defending himself. Despite the Master's,
orders, some mafia members decide to jump in as well. A police commander disguises himself as well to try and infiltrate the mafia. No one knows what to do, and the master doesn't know which mafia members came to his aid.
M??: The Mafia's Last Stand
20 Players, Cardflip, Role Usage is Optional
The Mafia:
Master: His identity is revealed to everyone at the beginning of the game, but he can't be distinguished from the Police Commander. Cannot die until the other mafia members are dead. This includes lynch votes. Once all the other mafia members are dead, the Master commits suicide. He is the a only mafia member that is not in contact to the other members.
Evidence Forger: Can twice in the game forge evidence and redirect a lynch to someone else.
Thief: Can target someone in the town each night and steal their items. The Tool Master will obtain the target's items.
Tool Master: Obtains items stolen by the Thief.
The Town
Police Commander: His identity is revealed to everyone at the beginning of the game, but he can't be distinguished from the Master. He cannot die.
Detective: Starts with a bulletproof vest. Can do one of the following each night:
-Inspect someone.
-Find a target's role once in the game, but if he does that he can't use any ability for two nights.
Bodyguard: Can protect someone each night, if there is a nightkill attempt at the bodyguard's target, the attacker dies as well as the bodyguard.
Police Officer: Can shut down the town each night, skipping the night phase. If he does that twice he will die.
Toolsmith: Each night he can:
-Give someone a bulletproof vest. Can be done twice.
-Give someone a knife. Can be done once.
-Give someone a gun. Can be done thrice.

Gun: Kills a person. Has one use.
Bulletproof Vest: Protects someone from gun kills. Can be used infinitely. Won't work with knife and mafia kills.
Knife: Can kill someone, has infinite uses.
Lighter: Can be used to burn someone's house once in the game. If used it kills someone ignoring protection and makes the target cardflip black.

Here's some constructive criticism: What the hell. "Simplified Edtion"
Story
You are brought here by an invitation to a perfect utopia where it is not influenced by the other major powers and has everything you would want, power, electricity, Mario kart, food, and murder! Wait, murder? it appears that someone has died. You find out that the mafia has been aboard this cruise to take this perfect utopia for themselves. There is also an arsonist and a Cereal killer! NOT THE CEREAL! You must take the mafia in insure you have a nice and peaceful life on these lands.
The hell are these d00ds - Mafia, must have the town at half their pop count along with the arsonist dead. Along with their normal nightkill they can inspect a player every other night. (They must have killed 1 blue or 3 greens and they get one free inspection the first night only)
Godfather - Cardflips blue on inspection and death during the night. Otherwise cardflips Red. Visiting a player will silence them. Once throughout the game, can visit a player, if they are the Cereal killer then they are recruited and become a Mafiaso. If they are not a Cereal Killer the Godfather's role is revealed. Could recruit the Special Person if the consort died.
Consort - Can visit a player a during the night to roleblock them. Is immune to nightkills
Disguiser - Can visit a player at night to trade colors with said player for one night. Colors return to normal the following night.
Mafiaso - Can visit a player a night to learn who visited that player.
Look at these nerds - Town, wins by killing all the third parties and the mafia.
Detective - Can inspect a player at night learning their color. Once the Detective dies a new one will be picked out of the townspeople at random after 2 nights of the detective's death once.
Mortician - Can inspect a dead player at night. Inspecting them will learn the give you the dna of the killer or say killers. Considering you are underpaid, and you have inefficient equipment, you will only get the first letter of their name or last letter along with 3 other people who are not involved or may be involved.
Doctor - Can protect a player at night from death. Said player will be inactive for the next day i.e. silenced if was attacked. Negates roleblocking and color swapping, does not silence the person if this is the only thing they were targeted for.
Nurse - Takes over the Doctor's role after their death.
Bodyguard - Protects a player at night. if protected player was meant to be slain then they take down the person who was meant to kill them. Can not be negated by roleblock. Once the bodyguard is slain, a new bodyguard will be picked from the townspeople at random once.
Vigilante - During the night they can preform a night kill. If it was a townsperson, they are sent to jail the next night not being able to preform their nightkill that night. I.e. 1 night block.
Person - Normal person, can visit a player at night to confuse the mafiaso.
Person - Normal person, can visit a player at night to confuse the mafiaso.
Person - Normal person, can visit a player at night to confuse the mafiaso.
Person - Normal person, can visit a player at night to confuse the mafiaso.

Where these Wiibs come from - Third party, have different win conditions.
Arsonist - Can gas a player's house at night. This house will remain gassed (or say oiled I guess?) throughout the game. Can gas other players houses every night. Once throughout the night with there being at least 2 houses gassed they can set a match lighting the houses on fire along with everyone in it killing them. Can win with the Cereal killer. Is immune to night kills and can not be silenced nor roleblocked. Can win alone. Wins by all the town's blues slain, the person role group cut in half, and the mafia all slain. Or all died.
Cereal Killer - Can kill a player a night. Is immune to night kills, silences and roleblocks. Works with the Arsonist to kill the mafia. Can be converted to win the mafia under the Godfather visit, in turn they lose all their previous role abilities and become a Mafiaso. Siding with the mafia and losing their win condition with the arsonist. Will be automatically gassed if they become a Mafiaso. Town will need to rid this one to win still, but does not count as 1+ for the mafia even though they are now sided with the mafia.
Also please note that the only the first night will have no night kill abilities. Just to make sure others are actually have a chance to do something useful or uneventful at the day. All other abilities can be used along with the arsonist's gassing.
Blah blah mafia knows each other, and they are the only group to know who others are.subscribe

You are the Godfather You lead your group to take control of the town and slay the outsiders. By visiting one person you instill fear into them. You can give a threatening, persuading speech to sway either the Cereal killer or Special Person to become a Mafiaso. Your waifu is Consort, your snek man is Disguiser and your fresh member is Mafiaso
You are the Consort, second in command of the mafia. By visiting someone you actively disable their role by defeating them in mario kart, why are you so good? Disguiser is the sneaky player of the group and Mafiaso is brand new.
You are the Disguiser, you take other players color and trade it with your own. You don't get get to keep (as that means balance issues) Your best friends and they obliviously trust you are the Godfather, Consort, and the Mafiaso
Mafiaso, you are brand new, fresh, still young. You work to see who is visiting who. The Persons will try and confuse you so take note. Your leader is the Godfather

Detective is what you are see, you investigate people and find their color see. Once in the game see, you get replaced after your death see. So someone might be your deputy back there see.
You are the underpaid, unequipped, and bored Mortician, When someone dies you can collect some DNA and find the killer, if you could. Instead you get the first letters or last if you want of the killer and 2 other people that were not or were not included.
You are the Doctor, you work to save lives, but they need to rest so they are silenced for the day, if they were targeted for being killed. If they were meant to play mario kart or lose their color then the you tell them to go outside and get some air. You have a Nurse, but you don't know where the hell they are.
You are the Nurse You don't know where your Doctor is, but you take over their role after their death. Other wise you can act as a Person and visit people for the time being.
You are the Bodyguard You protect a person a night from roleblocks and silences along with color changing. If they were meant to be gassed or killed then you are gassed or slain. A new bodyguard will come forth after your death
You are the Vigilante , you dress in all black with a cowl that looks like a bat. You can kill a person during the night. If you slay an innocent, then you put yourself in jail for the night although no one runs said jail, for your crimes. You look shady thats why you are red.
You are a Personor the Special Person, you don't know which, but either way you can visit someone at night to throw off the Mafiaso. If you are the Special Person they you gain one extra point to your vote along with being threatened by the Godfather.
You are the Arsonist, you can douse a player in gas at night. When you decided that it is enough gassing then you can set a match on fire. Killing all those that are gassed. In turn you can no longer gas or light the match. You can work with the Cereal killer, but if they are swayed by the godfather's words then they are gassed.
You are the Cereal killer, You were put in jail for killing Cereal, UNIRONICALLY THEY DID NOT PUT YOU IN FOR KILLING ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. So killing cereal is a major crime, what can ya do? Anyways you can kill a player at night. You could win with the arsonist. If you are swayed by the Godfather's words they you become a Mafiaso, but you are doused by the arsonist in turn

What is the Cereal Killer's exact win condition? Does it need to actively ally with the mafia or arsonist or does it just win when the town is defeated?
Allowing the Cereal Killer to ally with the mafia is really strong in any case, and probably overpowered since it gives them a powerful new ally and effectively 5 members, to an already strong mafia.

2. He can place a mysterious ward on himself. If he would die during this Night phase, he may save himself.
3. Once throughout the entire game he may use this ability, invoking the anger of the Old Gods and crashing a wave into the village. This ability roleblocks every single player (not including The Stranger), and kills off a player chosen at random (also not including the Stranger or the Stranger's original kill target). Once this ability is used, The Stranger cannot make a kill during the following Night phase, although he can still use one of his other two abilities.

Mafia 42 - The Ultimate Deception

The Manipulators
Manipulator: Will cardflip red on Night 1 and Day 1, blue on Night 2 and Day 2, and green on Night 3 and Day 3. After Day 3 is over, the cycle will begin again, and he will once again start out by cardflipping red. The Manipulator can tag a player each night, and that player's ability will be blocked, along with the lynch vote not counting for the day phase.
Spy: The Spy can visit a player each night and will be notified if they were visited.
Juror: Once throughout the entire game, the Juror can notify the host at night, and the Day phase will have no lynching. Will be announced upon phase change.
Poisoner: Each night, the Poisoner can poison a player. That player will die the next night unless visited by the Medic or the Cleanser. Poisoned players will not be notified that they are poisoned.
The Town
Sheriff: Each night, the Sheriff can inspect a player to learn his or her role color. If he inspects the Poisoner, he will be poisoned.
Medic: Each night, the Medic can protect a player from night kills. If that player was poisoned, they will be cured. Cannot be poisoned.
Cleanser: Cardflips green. The cleanser can cure a player from poisoning each night. Cannot be poisoned.
Vigilante: The Vigilante can kill a player each night, but will lose his ability for one night if he targets a member of the Town. If the Poisoner is targeted, the Vigilante will be poisoned.
Enhanced Townsperson: A regular Townsperson, but is immune to night kills and poisoning. Doesn't know he is the Enhanced Townsperson.
