Hey SMBX Community, it's August! It's the last month of Summer and vacation time for most people, so we hope you kick back and enjoy yourself while you can.

For those who don't know, we use these monthly threads to post the latest announcements in addition to featuring an episode and graphics pack.

Here are the new announcements:

- Mafia is returning! Danny will be hosting the first game before we return to regularly scheduled host signups. We're changing a few things with the host signup process and we've listened to player's concerns. Mafia will return later today!
- Game Master signups: To coincide with Mafia returning, there will be signups for new Game Masters.
- Ban appeals. Starting today, if you have been banned from the forums or the SMBX Discord, you now have the option to send an appeal to be reviewed by the staff. All appeals will be handled in this format alone and not by individual staff members. All relevant information can and should be entered into the ban appeal form, and the staff will review your responses as they come in. If you made a mistake, you may edit your appeal after submission. A staff member will message you with details after the appeal has been reviewed. Here is a link to the ban appeal form. The form can also be found in the Forum Rules thread.

Here are updates to previous announcements:

- A new system to encourage reviews is still coming. This feature was planned for July but unfortunately got delayed. For those unaware, this will be a system to encourage users to review more levels, which benefits level creators. This feature is planned to be introduced in Mid-Late August.
- SMBX Worlds and SMBX GFX updates: For those unaware, these pages were once used to feature the very best episodes and graphics pack. Updates to these pages are planned for Mid August, featuring last and this month's featured episodes and graphics as permanent additions.

Super Mario Star Expedition is an older episode, but it is a fantastic one nevertheless. Chad has created a fantastic adventure and it's something you should definitely try at some point if you haven't already.

Prox has a massive collection of custom graphics that you should definitely check out. There's all sorts of creative tilesets and more to be found here that is bound to provide inspiration for your levels.
