I was playing Sonic on my computer when I got an error message saying stuff about a spell to obtain the developers souls once again, the devs being deaf and something about Gary Crook vs Jake Shanley. How do I get past it?

This topic is confusing in so many ways but after looking it up your talking about Sonic.EXE in case that helps anyone.

Of course, it was a Windows executable. How would I play this if it was not a Windows executable?

Basically I think Jayce777 is saying that you are playing a horror sonic fangame, and saying that it is crap.

Sonic CD is a good game for me.

Sonic.EXE is not an actual Sonic game - it's a fangame that's supposed to be creepy and messed up.

If you want to play a Sonic game on your computer, a bunch of them are on Steam - you can get a huge bundle of them pretty cheaply with the current Steam Sale.

I recommend to you to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic Generations, the best Sonic Games.

I don't like so much the DIMPS games.
But they aren't bad, they are cool and a bit fun.
But their level design is confusing, linear, automatic and strange. There's a lot of unfair deaths.

Sonic 3C is a much better version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I would recommend that instead.

You're right, Sonic 3C is very customizable and you can a lot of things that you can't do in Sonic 3K.
