For an RPG especially, if you don't have an idea for a story and try to start throwing random things together with no idea of their usefulness or relevance in the plot you're bound to fail, or at least waste a lot of time when you realize a bunch of the stuff you made is useless in your story; or your story will be ridiculous because you'll try to mould it around all of these random items, etc.

Why? That's the worst Spongebob episode.

Well that episode tried not to make sense. The episode was where Squidward wanted a place to store his clarinet, and Mr Krabs found his locker. Spongebob cleaned it, and then turn Mr Krab's locker into a giant storage center, and then Squidward got eaten by a giant eagle head, and tfrome there it makes less and less sense.

That episode still is a shitty combination of Choir Boys and Squid's Visit.

If you want a weirder Spongebob episode then there's SB-129, inSPONGEiac and many others.
