You may have seen many of this images recently.

Recently, Photobucket decided to charge for embedding images. By how much? Only $40 a month or the cheaper $400 a year.

In my opinion, I find the price laughable especially when there's free alternatives.

That's an absolutely ridiculous decision, especially when we have so many other image hosting sites who don't charge. This is probably gonna kill the site.

This is stupid. Even if they were going charge $40 a month? at least bring it down the something more reasonable than $400 a year.

It is just another example of a company thinking there big enough to start charging.

If your going to charge make it free and charge for more exclusive features.

What a fucking waste uploading images to Photobucket is now, this will definitely come back to bite them in the ass some day.

Is there any reason for photobucket to do this?

This is strange, when I login and try to upload something, everything seems normal, and my embedded images are intact. Does it only apply for newly registering users?

who the hell uses photobucket any more compared to something like imgur? it takes me half the time to upload something to imgur via sharex, doesn't take 3 years to open the site compared to even bloody postimage, and especially as a paid service

photobucket is about as relevant as fuckin' myspace i'm pretty sure this decision is made to get them some cash before they shut down the company due to redundance

Yeah this seems like a last ditch attempt to generate profit. Photobucket is way less popular than it used to be, pretty much everyone uses Imgur, or maybe Dropbox/Google Drive once in a while for images nowadays.

Agreed I knew that Photobucket is extremely less popular than Imgur. And for that I now hate Photobucket nowadays because it is not popular than imgur!

Just so you know, popularity =/= quality.

Hating on something because it's not popular.. that would mean you hate every game that isn't popular like super mario or sonic.

Popularity means nothing at all.
