Plants vs. Zombies 1 is an amazing game, even after all these years. I played the heck out of it trying to obtain all achievements, and it's the main reason why I'm into tower defense games.
PvZ 2 is pretty nice as well, but thanks to EA and their stupid Freemium system, you have to pay for the Torchwood, Squash, Jalapeno, Snow Pea, Power Lily, Starfruit and Imitater, as well as the 8th plant slot, a 5th Plant Food slot, 25 more suns to start with, and 25% more sun refund when removing a plant. The game can be played without all of these, but it's of course a big advantage to have them.

Not? According to the Plants vs. Zombies Wiki, all versions of PvZ except for the original PC version and the online version have achievements.

Also, there's not only a PS3 version of PvZ: Garden Warfare anymore. The game has been released for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One about a month ago, and will be released for the PC on June 3rd, 2014.
