A Grassland Tileset (Updated June 11th, 2017)

Postby Turnip » Sun Jun 04, 2017 1:38 pm

Pretty self-explanatory. The tileset uses the SMB3 color palette so it will work best using graphics of similar colors.

EDIT: After popular demand, I updated the tileset to now include slopes and added an alternative grass texture without the dark patches. You can download it under Version 1.1. I will be keeping the old version up though, just in case you don't want these things for some reason.

EDIT 2: Added a minor fix to the long slopes by making the blocks fit in better with the rest of the set. Also, for some reason all of them were 66x32 instead of 64x32 so I made a quick change with that and now they should all be fine. You can get the fixes under Version 1.2.

EDIT 3: Added back a missing tile in Version 1.2.1.

Be sure to give credit if you use them.

I'm honestly pretty dissapointed that this doesn't have slopes, as they're a pretty essestential part of tilesets like these. Other than that, this looks great! May I suggest making an alternate fill block without the dark grass?

Edit: You know what, now when I look at it, it kinda reminds me of the GBA Klonoa games.

It looks good I personally probably would not use it because I prefer the original and it's too blocky for me but it looks like you put effort into and it paid off.

This actually looks pretty good! Fits the SMB3 style really well. Not perfectly, but it fits well for custom graphics! Great job on this! =)

I kind of like this tileset. However it would be 10 times better if it had at least ONE set of slopes. Other than that it seems pretty good, not too complex but not too simple.

I mean, it would most likely be used more often if you were to add some slopes. And I do think that slopes make a grassland look better. But they aren't a necessity so you dont have to add them.

By popular demand, I added in slopes to the pack as well as a variant on the middle grass fill without the dark patches inside. They are included in Version 1.1 of the pack which you can download on the main post. Also, I appreciate the constructive criticism you guys have been giving me, so I wanted to say thank you :)

Anyways, enjoy the update!

I really like the update, but there's a weird bump on the long slopes, and they also seem to have a thinner white than the other tiles, which making them kinda clash with the rest of the tileset.

Very nice! It's clean, yet detailed, and blends with other SMB3 objects seamlessly. Great work!
