M41 Host Sign-ups (Poll PHASE 2)

Postby Julia Pseudo » Sat Jun 03, 2017 1:26 pm

Mafia 41

We're looking for your quality mafia hosting skills and your quality mafia games for our next game!

You've seen Mafia.
You've played Mafia.
Now, it might just be your time to host some Mafia!

Sorry to Witchking666 and I, but we will not be hosting.

How do I apply?
All you need to do is post your game suggestion in this topic!
However, you must have participated in at least one mafia game in order to host a game.

After you have posted, your two Game Masters, Danny and I (there's FallingSnow too but he doesn't show up that often), will edit your post and respond in green at the bottom if we approve.
If we have comments or changes that we recommend, we will edit in red.
Optional suggestions may be in yellow or orange.

Tips to Remember:
Each user may only submit one game, so choose wisely!
Your game should contain around 15-20 players.
Have about 1 mafia member for each 4-5 townies.
Your game doesn't need to be overly complex to be fun and interesting. Sometimes a good combination of roles can produce a better result.
Don't try to go overboard with the custom roles! You don't need to change the entire theme of your game for it to be interesting.

Ready for Mafia?
Think up some ideas!

This game (as well as all other games for the indefinite future) will use the M39 voting mechanic, in which everyone has unlimited, changeable votes for the first voting phase and a single non-transferrable vote for the second voting phase. Get excited!

And it's finally time
M??: Mad Mad Scientist

21 Players
4 Mafia, 16 Town, 1 TP
Role Usage is Optional
Lynching Is Mandatory

Lore
Spoiler: show
First of All, I tricked you, the role this game is named after isn’t part of this game’s mafia, however, they are responsible for the situation lore-wise and are the TP, hey almost forgot the lore. There was a scientist who had created two potions of sorts one of which could give a creature of any kind human like intelligence and the other that would make them grow massive size, he decided to use several insects, a Stag beetle, Rhino Beetle, Mantis, and Wasp, as test subjects, though the potions worked, they ended up turning on him and fleeing away to choose their own paths, two decided to join the local mafia, with a little convincing of course, the other two decided they’d help to defend a town that they realized was the mafia’s next target. The town was able to trust the Rhino beetle pretty easily, but the mantis, nobody really trusted them much. But long story short, the Stag beetle and Wasp decided to collaborate with the mafia and the Rhino Beetle and Mantis sided with the town to help stop the mafia as well as the other giant insects. Meanwhile, the scientist who caused all of this decided he was going to end what he started, while taking the opportunity to possibly take the town over for himself. And that’s your explanation for what would otherwise be a confusing setting.
The Mafia And Vile Insects
When collaborating on who to kill, they’ll also need to decide who’ll visit the player to do it.
Spy: They can plant a scanning chip on someone each night, and then active them all on a later night, inspecting all of his targets at the same time, they are able to plant two chips on a player to learn their exact role. Chipping planting can be roleblocked, but scanning cannot be roleblocked though. They can also plant another chip in the same night they scan them all. They can also choose to plant two In one night, but by doing so, have to wait an extra day to activate them.
Lecturer: They can read someone a long chapter book each night, roleblocking them for the night phase, and vote blocking them next day phase.
Wasp: Can sting a player continually each night to injure them, not allowing them to say anything the next day phase besides “I was attacked” or similar. Can once in the game go into a mode for one day phase and night phase, if someone nightkills them or their lynched, in terms of nightkills, will take their attacker down with them, and in case of being lynched, the last person who voted them dies after the next night phase.
Stag Beetle: Can beat someone up besides the mafia’s kill target each night, causing that person to flip black the next day phase. Can also twice in the game attempt to frighten someone with its pincers, if it targets a regular Townie they become a Frightened Townie.

The Town
Examiner: They can plant a scanning chip on someone each night, and then active them all on a later night, inspecting all of his targets at the same time, they are able to plant two chips on a player to learn their exact role. Chipping planting can be roleblocked, but scanning cannot be roleblocked though. They can also plant another chip in the same night they scan them all. They can also choose to plant two In one night, but by doing so, have to wait an extra day to activate them.
Reader: They can read someone a long chapter book each night, roleblocking them for the night phase, and vote blocking them next day phase.
Rhino Beetle: They can protect themselves twice in the game, killing anyone seeking to kill them.
Vester: Can hand out a total of 3 Protection vests throughout the game.
Biologist: They can watch someone to learn who visited that person last night. If they watch one of the 4 Giant Insects, the Insect's role will be revealed to the Biologist, however, their own role will be revealed to the giant insect.
Mantis: thanks to having it’s survival instincts still intact, they’ll survive one nightkill. They can kill someone each night, but what color their victim is will effect their reputation meter.
Baker: Can bake someone a baked good each night, and then choose to deliver all the goods a later night, counting all their targets votes as two. Baking can be roleblocked, but not deliveries. Delivering to the Snoozer will wake them up, making them a Double Voter. No one will know they were made a baked good until delivery.
Snoozer: If they don't speak during the night phase, their vote will count as two next day phase. If their attacked by the Wasp, the night rules no longer apply and votes will always count as two. If given a baked good when lynch votes already count as two, they'll count as three.
Townie: Regular Townsperson
Townie
Townie
Townie
Townie
Townie

Frightened Townie: Being frightened and nervous because of the presence of giant, human sized insects, they seem a bit off. Knows they are frightened.
Frightened Townie

The Scientist Behind Everything
Mad Scientist:
They can kill someone each night and are immune to nightkills, they are also able to paint someone orange the same night that’s separate from their kill target, if their painted target is killed the same night they paint them, they’ll show up their painted color. painting wears off next night phase. If they target a Frightened Townie, they’ll become a Lab Assistant. They also can once in the game live up to their name by doing such crazy science that all abilities are blocked, everyone is painted black next day phase, including him, and one player is killed of their choice, any kind of protection being ignored. All black painting wears off the next night, and after using this madness of an ability, can’t use any abilities next night phase. This event CANNOT be roleblocked.

Lab Assistants: This is what frightened townies will become if they are converted, they can paint someone orange or red each night, but will only be able to also kill if the initial scientist dies. The Mad Scientist can only have up to two assistants in the game. They also aren’t immune to nightkills like the original Scientist is. Nor can they make an awful thing happen.

The Mantis’s Reputation Meter
Basically, the Mantis’s color will change based on what number their reputation meter is at. The best color they can be to the worst color is Pink, Blue, Green, Orange, and Red. They start with -1 Rep, making them flip orange, If their at 0/1 rep, they’ll flip green, if their at 2+ rep they’ll flip blue, and if their at -2 or lower rep, they’ll flip red. How their rep is affected is based on what color someone they kill is. If their rep gets to -5 or lower, he’ll be banished from the town, never allowed to return, essentially killing them from the game.
If their victim is blue, their rep will go down by two
If their victim is green, their rep will go down by one
If their victim is red, their rep will go up by one
If their victim is orange, their rep will go up by two
If their victim is blacked out, their rep won’t be affected
Even if they flip that color due to being painted, it’ll still work like this. When the mantis reaches 5+ rep, As a reward for contributing to protecting the town, they’ll gain special protection as they seem vital to the town, in other words, nightkill immunity all together and will also get a pink cardflip. However if at any point it goes below 5+, they’ll lose their nightkill immunity and go back to blue.

Extra Notes
Spoiler: show
- The Rhino Beetle’s alert mode will kill ANYONE who seeks to kill it, this includes the Mantis and Mad Scientist, even if the former hasn’t used their one survival of a nightkill or has obtained nightkill immunity and despite the latter having nightkill immunity.
- If The Mad Scientist Already has two recruits and they target another Frightened Townie, they’ll simply die.
- The Wasp revenge kill of bringing down his attacker with him will still effect the Mantis and Mad Scientist even if the former hasn’t used their one nightkill survival or has obtained nightkill immunity and despite the latter having nightkill immunity.
- Their revenge attack however won’t affect the Rhino Beetle though.
- The Double Voter the Snoozer can become will work the same as a double voter in a vanilla mafia game.
- If the Reader and Lecturer target eachother in the same night, they'll start racing to see who can finish their book first, vote blocking them both

Once in the game, you can go on alert so that the one who finishes you off is brought down into the grave with you. You’re a technician who’s good at investigating people, you the Examiner! Each night, you are able to plant a scanning chip on to someone, and then active them all on a later night, learning all of your targets colors at the same time. You can also plant two chips on one player which will give you their exact role by doing so. Your chip planting can be roleblocked, however, the scanning itself can not be stopped.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
Your someone who likes reading long stories, you’re the Reader! Each night, you can invite someone to your house to read a long chapter book to them, which will keep them distracted, roleblocking them that night, and also making them late for the lynch, vote blocking them as well.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You are one of the four of the Mad Scientist’s Giant Insect Experiments, you are the Rhino Beetle! Because of you being such a big and strong insect, you can go alert twice in the game, and anyone that tries to kill you while on alert, they’ll get a taste of their own medicine.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the other Giant Insects helping them and the very scientist that created you, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You have a secret bunker where you keep a few vests incase they are needed, you are the Vester! three times in the game, you are able to loan a player one of your vests, and the next time that an attempt is made on their life, they’ll actually survive.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You are someone who’s into studying nature as well as the creatures inhabiting it, you are the Biologist! Each night, you can observe a player to check if anyone had visited that player last night. Because of giant insects arriving, your pretty interested in them as well. If you watch the Wasp, Stag Beetle, Rhino Beetle, or Mantis, their role will be revealed to you, however, they’ll notice you were observing them, revealing your role to them.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You are one of the four of the Mad Scientist’s Giant Insect Experiements, you are the Mantis! Thanks to you keeping your survival instincts, despite you having much more human-like behavior now, if someone tries to kill you, the attempt will fail, however, the next time someone tries to kill you, you may not be so lucky that time. Having a burning desire to prove that you’re here to help, as well as the fact that you may have a bit of a bloodlust, you can kill someone each night, but what their color was will effect your reputation. Your rep will change depending on the color of your victim, and depending on what your rep is at, your color will change too. If you have neutral rep or 1+ rep, you’ll be seen as pretty whatever, making you green, if your at 2+ rep or higher, you’ll be viewed as having a possible amount of importance, making you blue. If your at -1 rep, the civilians will be unsure of your, making you orange, if your at -2 rep, the citizens will think pretty badly of you, making you red. However, if your at 5+ rep, the townspeople will view you as very important, giving you a pink cardflip and completely immunity to nightkills thanks to being protected inside of a special building by bodyguards. However, if you soil your reputation to much and get to -5 rep, the townspeople will banish you, removing you from the game. How much your rep will be affected is based on your victim’s color, if their blue, your rep will greatly fall, if their green, your rep will slightly fall, if their red, your rep will slightly raise, if their orange, your rep will greatly rise. If the town can’t identify your victim, your reputation won’t be affected.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the other Giant Insects helping them and the very scientist that created you, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You run the local Bakery, you’re the Baker! Each night, you can bake a baked good for someone, and then on a later night, you can deliver all the baked goods that you made for people, counting each of their lynch votes as two. Nobody will know that they were made a baked good until their actually delivered one.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You sleep in very often, you’re the Snoozer! If you decide to live up to your name and not speak that night, then your lynch votes will count as two the next day phase, if the Baker delivers you a baked good as the smell wakes you up, or the Wasp attacks you, the night rules will no longer apply and your lynch votes will always count as two. If you have a baked good when your already awoken, your lynch votes will count as 3.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
You’re a Townie, you don’t have any special abilities, however, if the Stag Beetle tries to frighten you, you’ll become Frightened.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck!
Your really scared of bugs, so the fact that giant-human sized ones are around is really frightening for you, you’re a Frightened Townie! Because of how nervous and scared you act all the time because of this, it makes you look really suspicious. If your targeted by the Mad Scientist, you’ll become a Lab Assistant. Which is an assistant to the Mad Scientist who can paint someone orange or red each night, but aren’t able to kill unless the Mad Scientist is dead.

Your goal is the destroy the Mafia as well as the Giant Insects helping them and the Mad Scientist that caused all of this, along with any potential assistants he has, good luck! But if you become a lab assistant, your win condition will change to being the last team remaining!
Your not from the town, your not a part of the Mafia, you are actually the one behind this whole situation happening to begin with, you are the Mad Scientist! Each night you are able to kill someone, and paint someone else orange. Thanks to having things such as a jetpack, you can’t be killed at night. If you target a Frightened Townie, you’ll threaten them into helping you, making them a Lab Assistant. Once in the game, you can live up to your name by causing a stormy disaster, causing everyone to hid indoors, blocking all their abilities, painting them all black, including yourself next day phase due to there being thick fog in the area afterwards, and killing someone, due to them being hit by a lightning bolt, which nothing can protect from that. After doing this, you won’t be able to use anymore abilities next night phase. Thanks to not being able to be distracted by the Reader nor the Lecturer, this ability cannot be roleblocked either.

Your goal is to wipe out the ENTIRE town AND mafia, you and your possible assistants can be the ONLY ones left. Good luck!

Win Condtions:
The Mafia And Vile Insects: Outnumber the Town and Kill the Mad Scientist and his potential Lab Assistants
The Town: Kill all the Mafia and Vile Insects and the Mad Scientist and any potential assistants he has.
The Scientist Behind Everything: Be the last team or player standing.
Pseudo wrote:Bulletproof vests as seen with the Vester are really OP if a blue alliance can be started. I would replace that role with a standard doctor.

I made this game with the help of Witchking666.

Let's Raise the Flag of Rebellion

- 20 players
- Cardflip
- Optional Role Usage
- Classic win conditions
The Despots
Abductor: Can kidnap someone each night, making them unable to speak for the following day. The Abductor will also learn the color of the player he captured by the end of the day. Cannot kidnap the same person twice in a row.
Oppressor: Can target a player each night and restrict their voting choices for the next day. If the targeted player doesn't vote for one of the players the Oppressor has given for them to pick from (the amount of the choices can range between 2 and 8), they will die. The Oppressor has to put a mafioso between the potential lynch targets, though.
Spy: Can track down a player each night and learn who they visited that night.
Hooligan: Twice throughout the game, he can cut down the electricity and make cardflip colors indistuingishable from each other, resulting in blue and green turning to cyan and red and yellow turning to orange. This ability has an effect on the night it's used on.

The Rebel Organisation
Guerilla: A partisan who handles guns very well. With his skills, he can kill a player each night. If he kills an innocent, he won't be able to use his ability the next night and his cardflip color will change to red for the following day and night phase.
Detective: An inspector from the nearby town that has already been conquered by the despots. With his inspecting experience, he can learn a player’s color each night. If he inspects the same person the second time, he'll learn the exact role of the player.
Dissector: Can anatomize a dead player and learn their exact role every day.
Medic: A very experienced medic on the side of the rebels. Can visit a player and save them from death each night. Can only self-protect once.
Spokesman: A high-ranked rebel who can visit a player each night and send them a message via the game host.
Graverobber: Upon the Detective's or Guerilla's death, he will assume their role but his cardflip color won't change.
Anthropologist: Upon the Dissector's or Medic's death, he will assume their role but his cardflip color won't change.

Rebel
Rebel

Partisan: A relatively violent and suspicious rebel. Thinks they're an ordinary rebel.

The Deathbringer
Annihilator: A completely crazy serial killer whose goal is to stop the rebellion and take down the despots once and for all. Each night, he can kill a player. He is immune to nightkills. If he doesn't kill a night, he will become stronger. Doesn't lose any abilities upon upgrading.
1 Skip - If the kill attempt fails, he will make the target unable to speak for the following day.
2 Skips - If the kill attempt fails, he will make his target permanently lose their abilities.
3 Skips - Learns the identity and the color of any player that visits him during the night and/or votes for him during the day.
4 Skips - Can kill 2 players during the night instead of 1.
Additional notes: show
  • If the Guerilla and the Detective die at the same time, the Graverobber will get to choose which role they want to assume. The same thing applies for the Medic, Dissector and the Anatomist.
  • If the Detective inspects someone for the second time and the Hooligan uses their ability, the Detective would still learn the role of the player.
  • Failed nightkill attempts against the Annihilator won't be revealed publicly, but the failed attempts against protected players will be.
  • The Spokesman's message cannot contain more than 300 characters.
  • If the Graverobber assumes the Guerilla's role and he kills an innocent, he won't turn red for the following day and night phase.
  • If the Guerilla nightkills the Partisan, he won't be punished. He will be punished if he kills the Graverobber or the Anthropologist, though. (since the only yellow besides them is the Annihilator, who is immune to nightkills)
Role PMs: show
Role PM wrote:You are the Abductor. You deal with the rebels by kidnapping one of them during the night. The kidnapped player will be unable to speak the day after you captured them and you will also learn their color. Your teammates are: Player (Oppressor), Player (Spy), Player (Hooligan).
Role PM wrote:You are the Oppressor. You tend to force your unpopular opinions on others, making them only able to vote for certain players if they don't want to die. Your teammates are: Player (Abductor), Player (Spy), Player (Hooligan).
Role PM wrote:You are the Spy. Your job is to gather information for the despots, and to achieve this goal, you must disrespect your target's privacy and learn who they used their ability on during the night, if they have one. Your teammates are: Player (Abductor), Player (Oppressor), Player (Hooligan).
Role PM wrote:You are the Hooligan. You are the master of hijacking machines, devices and facilities. For some occasions, you might enhance the darkness of the night in order to hide some information from the rebels. Your teammates are: Player (Abductor), Player (Oppressor), Player (Spy).
Role PM wrote:You are the Guerilla. You are a heavily armed rebel who can kill someone during the night in order to take down the despots, but if shit hits the fan because of you, you'll be temporarily punished.
Role PM wrote:You are the Detective. You managed to escape from the town you were a cop in and you want to avenge the despots. You can inspect a player during the night and learn if they are a bad boy or a good boy. You can inspect someone for the second time to learn which boy they are.
Role PM wrote:You are the Medic. Your healing skills are so high-leveled that you can prevent a player's death. Unfortunately, you have to decide who you protect before the attacks happen, though, since you don't have a fancy car to reach the victim in time.
Role PM wrote:You are the Dissector. You're a master of anatomy and your skills break through common sense, making you able to identify a dead player's role every day.
Role PM wrote:You are the Spokesman. Your job is to anonymously hand information over to fellow rebels. You're able to use this ability anonymously if you feel like it, don't ask me how, though.
Role PM wrote:You are the Graverobber. You are such a determined rebel that you might not even care about the human rights of fellow rebels, since you only care about stopping the despots. This makes you able to steal the Guerilla's or Detective's weapons if one of them dies. Your disrespect makes you look suspicious, though.
Role PM wrote:You are the Anthropologist. You know so much about the human body that you are capable of both performing autopsy or healing injured people. However, you're not so confident, so you will only use your talents if the Doctor or the Dissector dies in order to fill one of their duties. Your hesitant behavior makes you look suspicious, though.
Role PM wrote:You are an ordinary Rebel. Your goal is to kill the despots and the annihilator before they eliminate you and fellow rebels. Watch out though, because you might be the Partisan.
Role PM wrote:You are the Annihilator. You're a terrible human being and your only goal is to develop despair and bring death to both the rebels and the despots. You might choose to not do anything during the night in order to become even stronger afterwards. You don't need to worry about sudden death, because you can't be killed during the night.
#EDIT: I clarified that the Hooligan is only a nighttime ability. (in case it wasn't obvious)
Danny wrote:Seems pretty good, although I recommend clarifying the Annihilator role a bit better. When it skips a nightkill, does it gain the ability alongside its nightkill, or is its kill ability replaced with the new ability?
Pseudo wrote:How long does the Hooligan's ability last?
Otherwise seems good.

M41: Beauty of Annihilation
-16 players, 4 Teams
-Open-Ballot Voting
-Day/Night Cycle, starts at Night
-Full roles are flipped (and their icon will show for aesthetic purposes :D)
-Last team standing wins

Team 1: Government
ImageDetective - Visits a player to learn their color.
ImageRogue - Kills a player every night. If they kill someone of their own team, the Rogue's role and alignment is revealed to the public.
ImageJailer - Jails a player each night. Their target cannot use their role and no one else can use their power on the target.
ImageJury - Can override a lynch vote once per game. Doing this they choose one person to force the lynch against. can't be reversed by the Paralyzer.

Team 2: Gang
ImageSpy - Visits a player to learn their type of role.
ImageHitman - Kills a player every night. If it is someone of their own alignment, they lose their power for a night.
ImageExecutor - Roleblocks a player every night. They get the chance once throughout the game to kill their target.
ImageParalyzer - Has the ability once per game to stop everyone from voting. Cannot be reversed by the Jury.

Team 3: Weirdos
ImageStalker - Watches a player to learn everyone that visited them or who they visited.
ImageClockmaker - Clock starts at 9. If they kill someone on another team, it goes up an hour. If they kill someone of their own team, it goes down two hours. If it goes to 6, they die. If it reaches 12 or above, they receive immunity from nightkilling.
ImageCreepy Girl - Has a doll, which they give to a random player on night 1. The person with the doll is roleblocked until they give it away to someone else (which counts as a visit/action). If they hold onto it for two phases, they die. If the player dies, the doll cycle resets.
ImageMad Scientist - Has the power to save one person from their team from a lynch vote every game.

team 4: Monsters
ImageCyborg - Using the identity checker, the Cyborg will learn the role and team of anyone who visits their team. Their power will be gone after 3 results.
ImageWerewolf - Can kill a player every night, but has to guess their alignment. If they guess correctly, it goes through, if it doesn't, it doesn't go through.
ImageCthulu - Immune to nightkills. Anyone who inspects them will be silenced for the day and roleblocked for the next night.
ImageZombie - The zombie chooses to swarm its horde through the town for one day phase. For this day phase, the lynching is closed ballot box.

Role icons provided by EpicMafia.com

4 types of roles: Investigating, Killing, Blocking, Voting
Investigating - Involves learning someone's role type, alignment, or what they did.
Killing - Player kills every night or every other night, but doesn't know what alignment they have and the rest of their team doesn't know either.
Blocking - Player has the chance to roleblock someone of their choice each night.
Voting - This role involved the power of voting, whether adding, removing, or preventing votes.

Clarification tab:
-Between the Paralyzer and the Jury - if they happen to use it on the same day, whoever calls it first has their power go through. For the person who was too late, their power is nullified and for compensation they can use it another day.
-The Clockmaker's clock goes from 9 to 7 if they kill someone on their own team
-If someone's death is prevented, there will not be an announcement.
-On the zombie's hording day, people can still talk, public lynch votes will not count.
-When you receive the doll, you have two phases to rid yourself of it, if you have it longer, you die. You can give it away every phase.

M#41 Virus Alert

Computer Viruses (collectively get 1 kill, wins by elminating Biological viruses)

ILOVEYOU An email based virus that is so common that it is immune to nightkills
Zeus A trojan virus, appears to be a normal file when Inspected
Conficker Its name comes from the English word, configure and a German pejorative, it`s a malware virus, so it can cause ads to pop up and prevent a player from using their ability
CIH The Chernobyl virus (also known as CIH) triggers on April 26th each year, the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. It overwrites a chip inside a PC effectively paralysing the entire computer, In game it just makes players unable to vote the next day

Biological Viruses (wins by elminating computer viruses)

White Blood Cell It can kill one player each night, ironically looses it's abilty for a day if it kills a biological virus
Red Blood Cell Can protect a player each night
Immune System Can infect (it's a pun, don't panic) a player to learn their colour
Sensitive Immune System Can inspect a player each night, but red and green colours are flipped, thinks they're immune system
Supervirus Simply a virus that is resistant to cures, immune to nightkills
Cas9 A CRISPR thingy, can see who has visited a player
Common Cold There are 200 different strains of cold, Which is why it's the equalvent of a townie
Common Cold
Common Cold
Common Cold
Common Cold
Common Cold
Common Cold
Flu A very fast evovling virus, so fast infact that it's managed to infect computers too and appears as red when inspected, doesn't know they are the flu

Mechanics

Cardflip - There is no roleflip here

Corruption - Computer Viruses may choose to recruit (or corrupt if you prefer) a player into joining their team during the night, They do not get two kills if they recruit a killing role, and they can only recruit one person, ever.

(rolepms, and minature fridges not included)
Danny wrote:An interesting game, the roles seem particularly balanced. Except that "corruption" gimmick should either be removed or needs further explaining. What defines a "virus"? Because both teams fit the "virus" theme, so which one gets to recruit? Is it both of them, or only the Mafia side? Regardless, it's a pretty powerful ability to have.

M41+: Luigi's Fight for the Underground Village

Obsessed as always by his neverending thirst for unlimited richness, Wario and his cronies have attacked the peaceful underground village of toads who have lived peacefully mining mineral deposits for centuries. Now Wario has invaded the town's fortress and threw around his poison mushrooms, making four toads his mindless slaves, while the other toads managed to escape in time. Now he tries to take over the rest of the village too. But as if that wasn’t terrible enough, one of the poison mushrooms was so toxic that he turned its victim into a zombie, who now goes on his own campaign of destruction.

Cardflip, 19 players

Item mechanic: Each vanilla townie, as well as Wario and the TP, receives two different items for the game. The Rich Green Toad gets four items of at least two different kinds. The remaining special roles can't use items. Any forfeited item (misdonated by the overseer toad or due to the overseer toad being dead) is announced.

Lynching is forced as usual. Ballot paper votes are not considered for instas. Doctor savings are announced, but any other failed attempts on someone's life are not.

Wario and his lackeys

Wario: Main villain and leader of the mafia, can block a player's ability including items, except from the Zombie, and can use items himself. Immune against kill and death-by-conversion for the first two nights.
Devil Toad: Unless he's the last mafia remaining, he can do a suicide attack, killing someone and everyone who visits the victim. Or he will passively bring down every person who visits him first.
Wizard Toad: Can paint a person to make them cardflip red and appear as his role if a Tanooki Suit is used on them. Painting wears off the next night if the target survives. Once in the game, can paint the person the mafia wants to kill. He also appears green to Captain Toad / if a Tanooki Suit is used on him.
Cat Toad: Can find out a player's exact role.

The mafia must always choose a member to visit the player they want to kill collaboratively.
Instead of becoming doomed souls, mafia members die if the zombie is after them.

The toad village

Luigi: Patron of the village, can reveal his role to a player at night. Immune against kill and conversion for the first two nights.
Captain Toad: Leader of the toads, can inspect a player at night (in which case nothing happens).
Gunsmith Toad: Can kill at night. If they kill someone innocent (except for Red and Purple Toad), they can’t kill for the next night.
Tanooki Toad: Protects a player against nightkill (but not conversion). Has one self-heal.
Overseer Toad: Can collect all items from dead players and donate them to players at night, preferably to the ones who can use items, because else the donated item just forfeits. Can't use items himself.
Rich Green Toad: Starts the game with four random items.
Green Toad: Starts the game with two random items.
Green Toad
Green Toad
Green Toad
Green Toad
Red Toad: Doesn't know he's the red toad.
Purple Toad: Doesn't know he's the purple toad.

The undead

Zombie: Starts with one cohort (doomed soul) already. After that, he converts a player to a doomed soul every even-numbered night. If he targets an outlandish, he’ll kill them instead. Immune to nightkills and Wario's roleblockage. Starts with two items.
Doomed Soul: Has one nightkill available. Not nightkill-immune, not roleblock-immune, and doesn't have own converting power. Keeps items and can still receive items from dead players if they originally started with items.

Items: The game contains 22 items. If a player with items dies, their items will be randomly distributed over the people alive who can use items. There’s no limit on how many items you can use for a night.
  • Tanooki Suit: Investigate whether a player is a vanillager, or receive three potential roles if they’re special (counts as visit). x2
  • Magnifier: Investigate whether a player is a special or what items they possess (counts as visit). x2
  • Mushroom: Donate it secretly to another player to protect them from death. x2
  • Ballot paper: Can be used at anytime during the day phase for two extra ballot-box votes. Allows to vote for multiple players, and is safe from control by the Wizard Toad. x4
  • Burglar alert: Reveal everyone who visits you at night. x3
  • Wiretap: Eavesdrop on another player to see who visits them (counts as visit). x4
  • Pinned Message: Post an anonymous message at phase shift. x3
  • Crystal Ball: Effect a roleflip on a player if they die in the same night or the following day (doesn't count as visit, can’t be used on yourself). x2
Pseudo wrote:I don't understand what the setup phase does for Wario; seems that his teammates are fixed based on the setup of the mafia. Please clarify...
Edit: Fixed and approved.
Danny wrote:Letting players choose their teammates is not really allowed and ill-advised. The main aspect of Mafia is the surprise of finding out who your teammates will be or who the Mafia members are, that aspect is RNG-based entirely. Being able to choose who your teammates are could set you up for failure if people expect match-ups (groups of friends, good players, etc.), and there are far too many scenarios to come up with that would have people expect the teams. It also places whoever got Wario in a dictator position where he just places people into specific roles on his team, which can be unfair since it's not randomly determined.
Approved.

M41: A CULT AND A DRAGON

The Evil Cult
Can choose a person to kill each night collectively, also have to choose who goes out to do it.

ImageDark Shaman: Can target somebody and if they have an ability he'll obtain the ability for the next 2 phases but lose the ability to take other people's abilities. if he targets a townie the spell backfires and makes the townie a doublevoter instead for two days, he only loses his spell if it doesn't backfire. (it also backfires on millers who become green)

ImageSniper: Can shoot an arrow at the center of town once in the game to make himself a triple-voter for that day.

ImageAssassin: Can see if a person visited someone.

ImageSwordsmaster: Immune to nightkills.

The Town
Get rid of the mafia and the dragon.

ImageDancer: During day she can dance for someone, making them able to use an ability twice in a row next night.

ImageGuardian: Immune to nightkills if idle. He can target a player and protect them from death, if the person he's protecting gets attacked he dies instead and also takes down the person who attacked them, this goes through all nightkill immunity except the transformed dragon's nightkill immunity, can't target two people if targeted by the dancer.

ImageMercenary: Can kill someone every night, if he kills a town he'll cardflip red for the next night.

ImageArchmage: Can see a player's color every night, twice in the game he can see a dead person's role. the second ability has a cooldown of 1 night, it also can't be used at the same time as the first ability.

ImageApprentice: Can PM a message to the host after death during the next day if they're nightkilled, this message will be posted on the forum topic, he can't lynch vote in this post.

ImageSage: Can protect a person from any abilities every night except nightkills.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageTownsperson: has no abilities, can lynch somebody every day.

ImageMiller: Same as a regular townie, doesn't know he's the miller.

The Dragon
Be the last being alive.

ImageDragonkin: can kill somebody every night and is immune to nightkills

fuckyouOn Day 2 he can transform into:
fuckyouImageIncomplete Dragon: in addition to his previous abilities he won't be killed by the guardian if he attacks his client. If he transforms into the incomplete dragon he can't transform into the complete dragon later.

fuckyouOn Day 4 he can transform into:
fuckyouImageComplete Dragon: In addition to all of the above abilities, now when he dies he'll roleflip. Also whenever somebody attacks him they will die and cardlip black, while the dragon learns their color.

NOTES:
*The shaman targetting killing roles will not result in multiple kills
*The dragon's transformation will be publicly announced and his picture will be altered in the initial post.

Danny wrote:Really nice looking, approved, but Pseudo and I agreed that the message posted by the Apprentice after death should be PM'd to the host and the host posts the message, that way no shenanigans can be pulled after-death (which is the main concern with roles that deal with dead players or death in general). Another suggestion is to have the Apprentice roleflip upon death, but that might not be necessary if the message is sent out.

Sure, why not?
M??: Undead Chaos
16 players, cardflip
The Necromancer and the Undead
This team will begin with only the necromancer, and wins by outnumbering or equalling the town. This team has one kill each night
Necromancer: Controls the undead. If the necromancer has converted less than four people, he may then choose to target and turn a player into a Zombie, Dark Spirit, Skeleton Warrior, or Ghoul. The necromancer's team may not have more than one of the same undead(2 Zombies are not allowed for example). Can kill a player each odd-numbered night. Cannot be nightkilled and cannot target himself. If inspected on night 1, he will cardflip green. If the Necromancer doesn't convert anyone, a random target will be chosen unless four people were already converted. The conversion won't replace the nightkill.
Zombie: If the zombie is nightkilled or lynched, it will kill the person that killed him(Nightkill) or the last person that voted for him(Lynch). The Necromancer cardflips green if inspected on night 1.
Dark Spirit: Can stalk a player each night and eavesdrop on this person's PMs and DMs. Immune to nightkills.
Skeleton Warrior: A skeleton with an axe that can knock out any player each night. A knocked out player cannot speak the next day.
Ghoul: May scare a player each night, roleblocking this player and making him paranoid, where they will refuse to cooperate with anyone, making abilities from the town not have any effect on him for one day.
The Town
Wins by completely destroying the mafia
Priest: May protect a player from nightkills, mafia abilities, and from becoming undead each night. Cannot become undead, but isn't immune to nightkills.
Doctor: Can protect a player each night, making him immune to nightkills, but cannot save the player if he would become an undead.
Cop: Has a kill each night. If he kills an innocent, he will lose his ability and cardflip red one night.
Detective: Can interview a player each night, revealing their color.
Burocratic Doctor: Twice in the game, can make all the killed players roleflip in the phase the ability is used
Town Crier: Can post a message to the town at the beginning of each day phase. The message cannot fake deaths or nightkill attempts, and it cannot contain more than 250 characters
Townie: Normal townie
Townie:
Townie:
Townie:
Townie:
Townie:
Light spirit: Cannot be nightkilled, and cannot become an undead, since he is already one. Due to being a ghost, people don't trust him, so he will cardflip red.
Mayor: Immune to nightkills as long as the bodyguard is still alive. In contact with the bodyguard.
Bodyguard: If there is a nightkill attempt on the mayor, the bodyguard dies in his place. In contact with the mayor.
Pseudo wrote:Seems cool, approved
Danny wrote:An interesting mechanic, seems like it could do fairly well. How does the Necromancer convert? Does it replace its nightkill? Some clarification would be helpful too.
