Roleplay Character/General Discussion Thread
Posted: Tue May 23, 2017 10:36 am
If you haven't noticed already, the semi-mysterious #roleplay channel popped up in the Discord server a while ago, and hasn't really had any legitimate use until now.
Seeing the desire for a revival, Pseudo and I have agreed upon an official-unofficial forum roleplay, utilizing some basic rules/guidelines so things don't get crazy. If you have never heard of or played Dungeons & Dragons, then do not hesitate, because we will be willing to guide you through the steps of creating your first character and joining in your first roleplay.
First, some simple Q&A:
Q. What kind of setting can I expect from the basic rule set presented here?
A. The base rule set that we will be commonly referencing or utilizing is the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rule set, which employs a medieval fantasy setting (similar to that of The Lord of the Rings).
Q. Can the rules be modified to fit any genre/setting?
A. Most certainly, though we aren't looking at any official alternative settings yet, as we feel people will need to get adjusted to the current rules, we will be open to alternatives in the future.
Q. Can I host my own games?
A. At the moment, no. We would like to run a test game or two so people can get a feel for the system before giving people the ability to host their own games.
Q. Why is this not in its own subforum?
A. This isn't entirely official yet, as we're still establishing and trying out these rules to see how people work with them. If things look promising, we will look into finalizing this.
To get started with making your character, you can follow through the steps here: https://astranauta.github.io/rules.html ... Characters
As for Ability Score generation, you'll want to do Point Buy or Array, your choice: https://astranauta.github.io/statgen.html#1
Record all your options on the character sheet below, which you can download and edit with MSPaint or Paint.NET or whatever else you use.

If you need help with creating your character, you can ping me or DarkMatt on Discord or ask for help in #roleplay. Most of the directions should be pretty straightforward, but we'll be there to help. Once you're finished, post your character here.
(alternatively if you don't want to do all that character sheet stuff you can just type your character up in a readable format with all the necessary things with BBCode or whatever else you want to do, I won't mind)
