I prefer the newer Mario games because you'll always remember about SM3DW and MK8.

I like both of them. Either old or new, I like both of them. Reason why I included the old one: The older ones gives you great Memory what they made at the past where everything looks simplistyc but still it is fun to play.

I'm not really sure. I like SM64DS, but that was made in 2004. I don't know what you guys consider new and old. I'd have to say both, I guess.

Yeah, no matter how new the games are or old, both of them are still worth to play. I still play Super Nintendo Games sometimes.

SMB3 is the best 2D Mario platformer, so I'd say I prefer the older games in that realm.

However, Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite 3D Mario platformer, along with being one of my favorite Mario games and video games in general, so it's a bit hard to say.

Only 2D games. They're so hard!
My favorites are Super Mario World 1 and 2 and Super Mario Bros 1-3

Oh yes, I agree with that. But, in my opinion, Galaxy was the better game.

I'd say I favor Older games more than the Newer games but I like both. The older games just are funner to play and are games you can pick up and play for hours still. The new games still do this, but it doesn't have the nostalgia factor......
...
pure nostalgia i'd say then is what makes me favor older games...

SML wasnt bad at all. I loved it infact. Its just that it would be really weird to say there is a BEST. Mario game.

Both old and new mario games are good in their own ways. The only reason why we even appreciate SMB1 to this day is because(at the time) the gaming world thought of it as a revolution. With that in mind it creates fond memories for many. You're a CoD kid who doesn't know the beauty of simple 8-bit graphics if you can't even appreciate that.

I suppose I should say Older Mario games, and not just because I've creating and playing SMBX levels for 4 1/2 years now. Super Mario 3D World was indeed exceptional, and Mario Kart 8 seems to be as well. My only regret is not playing 3D World with four people, as that would have been very frantic, hilarious, and maddening.

The newer mario games are really good i asure you. But not a bunch of them ever really brought as much impact on me as the older ones did.

I agree. I have played newer Mario games, such as NSMB Wii/U and 3D World, just not with four people.

Multiplayer is really what those games were built for. They're pretty fun on their own, especially 3D World which was really awesome, but if you ever get the chance to play them in multiplayer I highly suggest you take it, especially if you can play with someone of a similar skill level. It's pretty awesome.

I can only imagine. Luckily, I played through both games with my brother, pretending they were SMBX expansion packs, especially 3D World. But if more people came over and wanted to play the games, I'd have no problem starting over on another file!

I heard people complain about SM3DW's difficulty. The truth is, that the game gets harder the more people are playing. Anyone who knows the final world star level and played it with 2 players at least knows this. This level itself is the prime example.
