Catskart Dynamic Message System

Welcome to the CDMS, where the game won't stop even if the message box is shown !
You can customize the message appearence, show faces, set the speed of the letter by letter system and more...

Here an example.


Of course, I made a documentation on how to use it, a demo to see scripts and a patch to apply in your level.

Looks good! I've never seen anything this good with Message Boxes.

Nice!

As PixelPest said, SMBX2 has had this kind of tech for a while now in the form of textblox, a helper library I wrote... but in fairness, textblox is a bit clunky and cumbersome so there haven't been many levels to make use of it, much less full episodes (I am working on a successor but it may still be a while before that's ready). Enjl did use the library to nice effect in 2k16 December Collapse, though:



That aside, my main concern is that folks have the tools to make what they want in the engine they prefer. I may work exclusively with LunaLua/SMBX2 myself but I'm happy that CDMS is available for 38A users and I wish you the best with it going forward, catskart!

Shouldn't this be moved to the official 38A topic because Hugo posted his scripts at his separate topics but they were moved to the 38A topic.
