SMB2 all moons sprites

Postby AxelSkylight » Mon May 01, 2017 9:42 am

I thought that the sprites of smb2 and smb2 all stars were not alike ... So I decided to take the original sprites and recolor them like in 16-bits

Yeah, they seem oddly familiar. I remember some sprites that were shaded similarily in a Mario fan game.

Well, they look pretty cool, and more faithful to the original game.

There's actually unused sprites for the Mario 2 players in SMAS that are much more faithful to the originals, and a lot better than this. I don't blame you if you didn't know it because it's not on TCRF for some reason.

I like them, but the colors are a bit odd.

You do know that you dont have to recolor, there is smb2 snes-styled sprites OFFICIAL by Nintendo themselfes. These are styled into smbx sprite sheet-styled form

also they are alike-ish

While Nintendo did make SNES sprites themselves, these are supposed to be the NES sprites rendered in 16-bit, or something. Instead of having only 3 colors to work with like the NES, they're given a SNES upgrade by giving them 15 colors. You can see the colors still match the NES sprites, but you can also see there's a lot more shading going on thanks to the extended color palette.

Can you please stop sounding obnoxious though, it's enough to warrant trouble and the mods don't like that.
