Trouble making my custom graphic background transparent

Postby devastatorx » Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:22 am

Hello. I am still fairly new at using SMBX, and am having an issue with some custom graphics I am trying to place on my world map. I have a hammer brother I would like to place as scenery, but I can't get the background to be transparent. I have created a mask file, but it seems to have no effect. I am using version 2.0. Both files are .PNG files. any help would be appreciated.

Which graphic are you replacing? Give its ID.

.pngs do not use masks. Masks are entirely used by the old .gif system, and should not be used any more.

So in other words, you can't really make graphics transparent anymore?

What? The .png file format supports a transparency channel. Masks are obsolete because you can make the image itself transparent. I honestly don't know why redigit used masks in the first place.
