M37: Peak Oil, 200 Years Too Soon - Town Wins

The popular forum game that separates the good from the bad, the strong from the weak, and the loose-cannon cops from the slightly schizophrenic. That's all after we figure out who's who, of course.

Since 2 blues are dead we're definitely going to have to start lynching people at some point VERY soon, otherwise this could get seriously dangerous. I would like more word from megar on if anything happened, since at this point he's been cleared of any suspicion in my eyes

I'll keep you updated if anything comes up, but now we have a theory as to why mech died
His post at the start can be taken both as 'im not a special' (which I presume was his intention) but as doesntpost pointed out the post is vague enough that it could be taken to mean that he IS one which is why the mafia targeted him

In a way what would be a good way to see him innocent if we just lost two blues and a townie in one night?

Maybe we should think carefully on who to lynch and hopefully the doc will use his ability to protect someone.
Chances are maybe one of them isn't the actual doctor and therefore lying to search out the next night and kill the last blues.

I think Jacob was trying to say Megar was untrustworthy, given that there was only a 9% chance of 2 blues and 1 green getting killed at random.

However, no one has counterclaimed him, so it's best to give Megar the benefit of doubt.
My mistake, it's actually around 15%.

I always thought that post meant "I'm not a special", although it is quite vague.

To be honest, other than whatever he is supposed to say between his previous roles, I don't find Mechdragon's quote to be worth anything but "chaos".
It's not really doing much of anything towards the remaining townies or blues either.

Is there supposed to be some kind of information in the sentence he was trying to say?

I wouldn't say it was clear.

A common misconception about probability, something is unlikely to happen again just because it happened lots of times before.

So I would have interpret his post as "I've been a special many times, so it would be likely for me to be a townie this time".

no, I for one thought that he meant he was a townie. There was nothing clear about that.

Notice how three people died instead of two. This means that Jonny Peterson killed someone as well. I want to trust Megar, but this just doesn't add up, as the Mafia got two blues. This seems like more than just lucky kills and I dunno why everyone is completely dismissing the fact that Megar could be suspicious.

The thing is, nobody counterclaimed Megar, but the fact that the Mafia killed two blues seems off.

Additionally, I'd like to add that to some degree, Mech did hint that he was a special, which is kinda dumb.

Not sure exactly what you mean by kill order, but if you're talking about the order in which kills are listed in the phase change, that's randomized (so the first two kills aren't necessarily performed by the roles higher up on the outline).

we barely used the day phase at all guys, so extending it was pointless

Ah I see. Usually hosts list Mafia kills first then TP kills second. Thanks for clearing that up.
