Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. imo it's useless, provides very little options, is unnecessarily strict and doesn't add to any discussion whatsoever. I think we should just remove it all together and make a topic about it instead, since not only would that actually provide discussion, it would also allow people to explain how they found SMBX in more detail.
Edit: Also, this again:

Are you saying about the fact that episodes are no longer featured and the SMBX worlds tab is basically dead, or are you saying something else? What do you mean by just posting an image of the episodes forum link?

I'm saying that the featured episodes are dead, and that the episodes description should be updated accordingly, sorry for not specifying.

Yeah, now that you've made it more clear what it is you're saying, I agree. Either that, or actually revive the featured episodes section (If that's actually possible/not too much hassle).

It would be cool if the community members voted for the next featured episode.

The reason is then when I was like 9 year old, I was playing tons of mario flash games, and they were a website called supermariobrothers.org, and on the site, they were videos about a new game: smbx!
It was like the best mario "game" i ever played, so I watched videos cuz I couldn't download it since I had a mac.
At 14 year old, I had my first laptop, and months later I was like " hmmm, I played brutal mario, and I have a pc; why not doing what I always wanted; downloading smbx!", so it's what I did. I created an account, so this is why my account is only like 3 months old.

So, I have a cool idea regarding forum icons. You know how every forum displays a SMB3 goomba if there's unread posts (Which is almost always btw) and a SMB3 coin if there's no unread posts. Well, I had the idea what we could give each forum it's own unique icon (That all are 1x1 tile long sprites from SMBX, keeping with the theme) that would represent the different forums (Like small Mario for general and a ? block for levels) as well as having a marker that marks if the forum has unread posts or not (Like how topics have the red fireball). This would make the forum much more asthetically pleasing and would keep with it being an SMBX forum.

That would just make things more confusing for people like me who are used to the icons we already use.

Yes! Maybe the graphics forum can have a goomba and coin,
but with custom graphics designed by someone.
There could even be a contest to design the graphics, with two winners: The best goomba and the best coin. (Each person submits one of each).

We could prevent this by users having the ability to toggle the unique icons on and off.

I don't think that's a good idea, considering it's just one small icon and we don't need to host an entire contest about it.

We'll have to ask someone like Joey to know for sure.

I mean, phpBB forums don't have unlimited features. If we COULD do something like that, it'd likely be from a mod extension, but I highly doubt the one you want exists.

Unfortunately, I think you're right about that. I went to several phpBB-related sites, checked through a lot of mods, and didn't come across any mod that exists for that purpose, although perhaps I missed something I think it's unlikely. Anyway, as far as I know, there are 2 options, but I don't want to raise hopes unnecessarily.
Option 1: As standard phpBB does offer the option to put a custom icon on a forum as is, but it doesn't replace the style board icons, it merely sticks an image next to it. It's the "forum image" option when editing or making a new forum. All you have to do is put an image url in it and it'll be done.
Option 2: I'm not able to test it unfortunately, but I think this could get the result you want which would be to replace board icons with a custom one, but there's no option to toggle on/off. I'd recommend testing the codes to verify it works before anything else, just to be safe too. Link:
here
That's all I could really find that seems to be what was being looked for but I dunno. Hope it helps in some way.

I think a forum can only be so customizable until it needs extensions to work.

Sometimes codes can work just as fine as mods, it just depends what you're looking to add or get done.
