He's bigger, faster and stronger too! It's the remastered Benial's Modern Graphics Pack! huh!

This pack started out as SMB3 restyles of New Super Mario Bros. tiles, but is now simply a collection of objects, enemies and scenery remenicent of the modern style.

Well... This might be better for my NSMB-based episode than what I am doing currently. I've just tried ripping stuff straight from the spritesheets that I got from spriters resource (which may have some anti-aliasing and definitely has 1x1 pixels), and it doesn't look that good. Because of the way I resized it, There are some weird lines in the ground, and it basically looks kind of bad. Also, I only used about 4 or 5 frames for each of the NPCs and that means the animations look a bit 'jumpy'.

tl;dr: I tried this myself, but the direct rips looked really bad. Probably going to use this in one of my episodes.

Wow, this is amazing!! It always feels good seeing graphics from one of my favorite games.

The GFX are kinda hard to see in the sheet due to the PGE grid. But otherwise, nice rip!

Yeah, I'll redo the screens when I finish some more tilesets

Maybe, but i think its good for a totaly diferent smbx experience, like a nsmbds level or episode, and i have seen things like this i some rom hacks, and it doesn't look that bad.

True, NSMB stuff always looks good imo.
I do get how some stuff wouldn't fit like the enemies (since they're ripped), but all the blocks seem to look really nice, especially the pipes.

Suggestion:
Maybe you could do two versions of the enemies?
Like one version ripped, another slightly restyled to match the restyled ground tiles? Then you would have a choice of which one you could use.

I'll try, but it will take a long time due to the sheet's size. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

That's not SMB3-styled. If you want to stylise something in a way where it properly fits alongside SMB3 assets I suggest you analysise the palette and shading that are used in SMB3.
Even for its own style, though, some of thelines and shading here are rather messy. The alternate grass tile looks unnatural, the slopes are a mess, the regular grass tile has banding galore, the fill is pillowshaded and the pipe barely even obeys the laws of physics in terms of how it reflects light. Meanwhile the shading on the cave just looks sluggish.

I think you should use the real nsmb ds backgrounds and tilesets for the total nsmb ds expérience. ;)

Yeah, I actually meant the enemies! Then I wont complain anymore

I like the 16-bit grassland tileset, but there is cutoff on the horizontal corner tiles.
Other than that and the underground tileset, it looks good.

Maybe PM benial because he isn’t very active on the forums and may miss this post if you don’t notify him.

Nice, thanks , the graphics look cool so it would have been a shame if they were gone forever.

I smell an update that wasn’t announced because Benial didn’t want to announce it for whatever reason!
