I'm not familiar with paint.net, so this is how I make a picture using Ms Paint. I don't really know how else to help you if you don't have Paint.

First, I zoom in to about 400% and make a line, after that I overlap some more lines to make a letter.
After a while it'd look like this(failed attempt at an a and a Yoshi egg)

I don't know if paint.net can do this, but I'm sure it's not too different.

There's no difference between making this in paint.net to making this in any other image editing software.
The only difference between making a logo and making other images too is the kind of skill required. For logos you want some experience in both digital art and in logo design.
Here are the steps on how to make your logo in any image editing software provided that you do have the aforementioned experience:
1) Create a new file in a resolution of your choice.
2) Draw/Type/Arrange your logo until you're satisfied.
3) Save.

It is, but there is a way to get it for free without it saying 'This download is corrupted'
But you need WinRAR
RARfrog and some other tools
