need help with SMBX 2.0

here is the problem:

when i try to launch SMBX 2.0, there's the loading thing of my cursor for about half a second and nothing happens !
so i can't start SMBX 2.0 and i don't know how to fix this problem, please help.

i'm using windows XP and can't upgrade to windows 7 (i would love to)

If possible, can you screenshot it? Also, we know that you're running XP, but what are your PC specs like?

i can't really screenshot it because it lasts for half a second :s

EDIT: also the old SMBX works fine, if knowing that helps

Press the Windows key+the break key.

one of the most common errors in 2.0 is that it wasnt extracted with 7zip.
Did you extract it with 7zip?

yes i did but im gonna try to extract it again maybe it will solve the problem

Near the top-right of your keyboard, there should be a key saying something like "Pause/Break". Press the Windows key (which has a Windows logo on it), and while holding the Windows key, press this Pause/Break key.

6400 @ 2.13GHz
2.14GHz, 2.93 Go of RAM
