Hey. So I've been doing SMBX Episodes for awhile now. I started off years back prior to joining the forums. This is the first episode i'm actually publishing to the masses. excluding another episode i had which is now lost to the sands of time. This episode is meant to be played in Level Editor. It's in no particular order. It's my first published episode. So i'm starting off small with a few "advanced" tricks. Oh and expect this to get meta during the story.

SMB: TPTDKK

The Plot
'Twas a normal day in the Mushroom Kingdom. A day as normal as any for our toad citizens and The Bros. Goombas were walking. Koopas were falling off cliffs as always and Cheep Cheeps and P. Plants were just as lively as ever. However, Something very particular began to happen as Mario walked around the beautiful fields of the Mushroom Kingdom. The world around him was becoming more.....distorted. Incomplete. Glitchy even. The Princess had disappeared. Mario's brother, Luigi, was nowhere to be found and the Toad population, a lot of them anyway, had vanished off the face of the earth. Mario was convinced that Bowser must be behind it somehow! He has to be! It's the only explanation for all this trouble! So he went off! Mario ran and ran. and ran. and ran. and r- You get the point. Till he reached a Toad House. One of the few occupied Toad Houses left in the Kingdom. He got a Warp Whistle from the Toad bonus room and went off straight to World 8 with no delay.

The Cast

Mario "Jumpman" Mario - The main hero of the entire franchise. The posterboy of SMBX. The famous jumpman. I don't need to explain any further who he is.

Kamek - The evil Magikoopa / Koopa Wizard that works for Bowser. He commands all of the magikoopas and because of this and his involvement in Bowser's plans. He's often considered to be Bowser's right-hand man. Kamek recently however got a Ghost House to replace his fortress in World 8.

King Bowser Koopa - The King of Awesome. The fire-breathing behemoth. The King of the Koopas. It's the one! The only! BOW! SER! He's the main villain of the entire Mario franchise and a unforgettable face. Weither he be a Anti-Hero or full-on baddie. He's always ready to square down with Mario! However, He's suspected for doing something to Mario's World. Is Bowser truly responsible or is there more to it?

"King" Wart Mamu - The usurper king of the Subcon World. The villain Mario pelted with veggies in Mario Bros. 2 for the USA. After Wart was beaten by Mario and trapped by the people of Subcon. Wart later regained control over the Subcon World and Factory. Reactivating the Dream Machine so he may once again spill nightmares into the Mushroom World. Maybe he'll cross paths with Mario again someday.

Larry Koopa - Larry is one of the seven koopalings that work for Bowser. Larry is currently on vacation and opened a airship resort.

???????? - .......?

Luigi Mario - Mario's younger brother, Luigi. The number #2. The green thunder. A underdog ready to shine. Like many of the mushroom denizens, Luigi has also strangely vanished. I wonder what happened to him.

?????? - ......??

Why do you have to play this episode in the level editor?

Like i said. The levels are in no particular order (outside afew) and don't connect with each other in the World Map. So Level Editor is required to play them.

If you want to make an episode you should have a world map or hub. It makes people less-likely to try it if it's going to require them to do more work to play it

Alright then. I'll add that on the ol' to-do-list for making this Episode.

A hub world would be great for this, as the player can easily do the levels in any order, and if you want you can make some levels require certain amounts of levels to be completed before you do some other ones, like a boss battle.

like others said, a hub is perfect if the levels can be played in any order. if you want to know how to make a hub, go here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10507
also remember that hubs use stars

Yeah i know. I've been making levels since the Knuckles96 Forums were a thing. I'm still working on mastering slopes and getting better with Level Design but i know most of the basic stuff from simple trial and error.

EDIT: Infact. I actually managed to make afew of the bosses in the episode with layers and BGO objects. Though i can't say who or what they are due to spoilers. :)

Sounds interesting.
The screenshots look bland though.
Anyway, good luck. You'll need it.
Edit: I removed previous comment, as Koopa is Bowser's last name.

Speaking of which, you might want to add some coins to the levels. That's usually the thing I forget in a level.

By the way. The bland screenshots are for deception. Mainly becuase i don't wanna spoil more of the better bosses of the episodes that don't use the default SMBX stuff.

But you should not do that as it may reduce the amount of people who play the episode, as bland screens act as a deterrent.
