So I've decided to scrap that last level I made and I've made a new level with the skills I truly have. I'm happy to announce a completely custom horror themed SMBX level that goes by the name "mansion.lvl". This level takes up 20 sections, however it's not too difficult to get through. There are currently 2 endings (2 stars total): A Normal ending and the secret ending. The normal ending is the ending with a checkpoint so choose your paths wisely. There's plenty of secrets and creepy things that happen occasionally so don't let your guard down. There are also 2 "bosses" that may not be too self explainable until towards the end of the normal ending. I've designed every custom graphic you see so hopefully they set the mood.

* * IMPORTANT * * There are custom sounds that I've included in the download file that I heavily recommend you use. Here's how you use them without any trouble:

1. Locate your SMBX folder
2. Make a backup of the "sound" folder (by copying and pasting the folder somewhere) so that you don't have the replacement sounds permanently
3. Copy the 3 sounds from my "replacement sound effects" folder and paste them into the original sound folder in your SMBX folder. (This will replace the three original sounds which is okay if you've made a backup)
4. Open SMBX and play the level
5. Enjoy the scares (:
6. When you finish playing the level and you want to get your original sounds back, just delete the sound folder with the custom sounds and then rename the backup folder you made to "sound" and everything should be alright.

Note: The Rexes are not 1 block tall

You based this of of 'Game.bps' didn't ya?
Anyway, The screens are small, so I cannot see any 1×1 pixels.

Heavily inspired by. I've seen a ton of SMW hacks and juat compiled a ton of inspirations together with a bit of a Paper Mario story touch. Cool that you noticed too!

Dude, why didn't you just use LunaLUA and use the sounds.ini and put your sounds in a "mysfx" file and link the sounds in the new custom sounds.ini file to the sounds?
PS: i will play ur level, its night, so it will be even more scary, xD
Done, i found the Secret Ending, the Secret ending was way more scary than the normal one, love the ghost luigi's.

Done, i found the Secret Ending, the Secret ending was way more scary than the normal one, love the ghost luigi's.

At the present time I am still trying to figure out how to fully get started with Lunalua. My slight perfectionist mindset is like "I don't want to use lua and then not be able to explain how to fix something if anything comes up."
I'm glad you found it although I made it way too obvious at the beginning (':

i could make a demonstration of the sound.ini with your sounds for you if you want, im not too talented with LunaLUA, and i plan to learn it, but i DO know how to make custom sfx WITHOUT replacing the sounds in the sounds folder
