But sometimes it's coming from the top left and then underneath the arms is brightness which seemed a bit off

I see you're learning how to shade pixel art on MS paint.

Yeah the shading is a liiiiiitle inconsistent. It helps to imagine where the light is coming from and angle all of the shading based off of that. The head had too much shading going on IMO
