I'm sure it's the same, only made for another console (only in this case, a GB is a mini hand held, so you know what I mean anyhow.)

The main difference is that the smaller GameBoy screen causes screen crunching, which is sure to make both games in SMB Deluxe worse.

I would say The Lost Levels of course. Because of the game too challenging and frustrating of each levels that they have and most of each levels are slightly boring but really exaggerated hard, because of finding many hidden blocks of each level and wind gust that can make you really hard to control your character when playing in each level and even what is mostly surprising about the game you have to beat the game eight times to access World A because nobody can't access the level due to amount of frustration and the difficulty of the game. The sprites aren't bad but the levels are really mediocre but there's nothing to say about this game.

mario bros 2 and the lost levels are really terrible imo, the difficulty in lost levels is unnecessary and the US SMB2 isn't even a mario game

I tried SMB2 (NES version) with an emulator a few time ago and it's pretty good for my taste...

Are you saying the USA NES version isn't the original?

iirc the USA SMB2 on the NES was just a reskin of a different game, Doki Doki Panic (I do not remember the entirety of the name)

it was quite a lazy decision if you ask me
it also just occurred to me that a lot of people don't like the Lost Levels
I mean, I can see people not liking the difficulty, which it is actually a challenging game (although it was quite enjoyable honestly), but I have seen worse... a lot worse...
anyways my least favorite has gotta be Super Mario Bros 2 USA, although that is mainly because of the lazy design choice of simply reskinning a game; if it was not for that, it would have been Super Mario Bros 3
