Any particular reason? The physics do a good job of rewarding momentum while allowing for more precise platforming than Mario 1, the new enemies do a good job of filling out the roster and giving each world a unique feel, the inventory gives a good risk-reward feeling, the new suits give a better incentive to hunt for stuff than just coins (I don't recall SMB1 having any powerups in bonus rooms), and the NES graphics have a cool style going with the faded cartoon-like effect that feels more refined than SMB1.
The levels are boring and repetitive and it looks like ass.

Are you guys seriously acting this immature over SMB3 or is this just an act?

If you are asking if I actually take the opinions of random people seriously enough to not be able to sleep at night, then no, I can understand how opinions work.
If you want me to seriously argue about why SMB3 is not worst, I would've done it by now if it mattered at all.
Now, if this wasn't WORST thread and instead BEST thread, I'd make a case for SMB3, but I am not going to do it just to contradict people's opinions on games.

((Notices other people making a choice.))
Me, who sucks at platformers:
I honestly think each Mario Game has a good aspect about them graphics wise. But ask me gameplay wise and I'll tell you my least favorite Mario RPG.
[Spoiler alert: Paper Jam and Dream Team are probably going to be up there.]

That's what I based my imaginery choice off of as well, because I like the art direction of every Mario platformer. It really comes down to how intuitive and accessible the gameplay is.

Exactly. The Mario RPGs are also usually very story heavy compared to the main Mario games, so the story is a big aspect on my choice as well.

This topic is for the classical 2-D Mario games, and yeah, Mario Sunshine is only 14.

Bumping this thread, because why not Zoidberg? Here's a short story that happens recently with me:
I order the Super Nintendo game, Super Mario World, a few weeks ago off Amazon to see what makes SMW so fun & lovable. I got it in the mail about a week after ordering it. And guess what's the sad part. The bottom of the cartridge is a bit busted, that it won't fit and stay in my SupaBoy. I was so disappointed, but I'm not so mad enough, I increase my hatred toward SMW. I would of love it, plus, I'll even change my vote from Super Mario World, to the freaking Lost Levels in the polls. But my thoughts of Super Mario World will remain the same*, until I go get a better working copy one!
*I played it on the WiiU Virtual Console, and I still find it A little flawed.

J-Just What? Your literally telling me you hate Super Mario world JUST because you happened to get a cartridge that doesn't work? I'm sorry, but that's honestly
doesn't make any sense at all, why do you hate it JUST BECAUSE the cartridge isn't working, it just doesn't add up to anything.

Others on the list are just better (though I have not played SMB Deluxe, which doesn't actually belong in this poll anyway).

I included Super Mario Bros. Deluxe because it's a port of the original Mario 1 game, and if you want, I'll delete it,
(But it will reset the poll if I do)

That's like saying Battle for Bikini Bottom is my least favourite game of all time because I have to coat the disc in isopropyl alcohol twice a day.
Anyways, I voted for YI because honestly it isn't a bad game, but it isn't my cup of joe.

SMB1 - it was great at the time but hasn't aged well.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe! Because i just prefer the original.

The box art does look pretty nice. As well as some other Things.
But Again, i just prefer the original.
