So, I'm having trouble creating an episode that doesn't have a world map. Like The Great Castle Adventure. I've made the world map with the "No World Map" Option enabled and I've made the hubworld. When I go into SMBX to test it. It Shows My Character on the bottom right of the screen fading, and a black background. Please help .

Have you specified your hub as the intro level in the world map settings dialogue?

I have not seen this menu in SMBX. This may be an older version you are using, but correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't used SMBX in a long time lol.

It's actually a newer version. There should be an "intro level" field in the world map settings menu with "hub-styled world" in your version, too, though. Enter your hub level there.

I'm using 1.3.0.1. That's the newest as far as I know.

I loaded up 1.3.0.1 to fetch another screen of where you can find the setting you're looking for in your version:

Enter the filename for your hub level and don't forget the file extension (.lvl)!

I believe I've done that correctly, but if not I'll load up an image to see if I did anything wrong.

Hrmm... curious. Did you test with an empty save file or one with 0% completion? If the latter, try the former. If that doesn't work, can I see a screenshot of your episode folder?

I created the first bit of my hub level, and playtested it. I saved it, and did everything I needed to make it autostart and such. I'll try and get a screenshot of it.

The hub level file needs to be in the same folder as the .wld file. Try moving it there and test again.

Yeah, this did help a lot with SM64 hub worlds, but what if you want a SMB1 or SMB2 styled no world map episode? What then?

Tick the "No World Map" or "Hub-styled world (disable world map)" check box and also tick on "Restart Last Level on Death" or "Restart last level after death" (depending on which version you're using). The auto-start level or the intro level will be the first level in the episode.

Yeh, I've locked down that much, but as soon as I beat the first level, it just loops back to the start!

Could you make a hub level where the exit from the last level is placed over an instant warp that leads to the next level? For example you exit World 1-1, which takes you to the exit warp on the hub level. But because the warp is placed on the same square/block as the level entrance warp for World 1-2, it takes you straight to the level.
It might not work, as I have not really played about with hub styled worlds/episodes, but in theory that should work, and the only reason I can think of that would mean this doesn't work is if it doesn't let you place the level entrance and exit warps separately.

it works, but you wouldn't be able to save.
