Level Window too large

Postby MarioWorker12 » Mon Oct 03, 2016 1:21 pm

When using the level editor in my old PC, the whole Level Window could be seen in the screen so I could easily see the whole screen. I recently switched to a new PC. This one, however, displays the level window too large, and the bottom row (a 1-block high portion) can't be accessible unless I scroll down. Also whenever I open any of the other windows like Blocks or Settings; they'd pop up beside the level window in my older PC. Now they pop up under the level window and to access them I need to scroll down even further. The weird part is that this PC has higher resolution than my older one. I use it with highest resolution option and reducing the resolution doesn't seem to be of any help. Is there a fix for this or do I just have to deal with it :cry:

Can you show us a screenshot so it's easier for us to understand?

You can just drag the windows around to reposition them, resize them by dragging the sides around, or change your computer's zoom settings

Whoops, sorry, I should have included one. However, there it is:
Spoiler: show

Blocks and Tiles window is selected, though can't be seen as it's under the Level Window (as you can understand from the tremendously long sidebar). And you can see the bottom row of the 4x4 block is outside the screen, though it is actually within the Level Window's borders. It this helpful?

Also, for dragging and repositioning the windows, well I could handle the blocks window and such with this method but the Level Window just simply doesn't fit in the screen, and resizing it is not an option as it results in the loss of the proportions and graphics appear extremely blurry.

I don't believe there's any way to remedy this, unless your computer has a higher resolution setting. What exactly is your screen size and what resolution setting do you have it at now?

@Joey
My screen size is 13.3 inches and the resolution is 2560x1440.

@Enjl
I'll try and see what happens. I'll update you if this works.
Edit: Well at the first glance it's a little more confusing than the original editor, probably because I'm used to it, but it definitely did solve my problem.

Sorry for bumping this thread after 2 weeks, but I just found a solution to this problem and though no one else mentioned having this, I thought I should post it just in case someone needs it. Apart from this problem, some of the pop-up windows and icons were too small on my computer so I really needed to fix that, and the solution I found also happens to solve my problem with the level editor. And it was a really easy fix that I feel dumb.

However, what I did was to go to the screen resolution settings window, but rather than changing the resolution, I clicked the menu down under that says "Make text or other items larger or smaller". Under the "Change the size of all items" section I saw that my DPI settings were set to 200% so I just lowered it down and voila! The default settings are 100, 125, 150 and 200 percent but you can assign a special value to it. I find 175% to be working pretty good for me, but it's all up to you. Also, my computer's language is not set to English so I wrote the names of the menus etc by looking at the site I found the solution from, so I'm not sure if it's exactly like that but it should be clear nevertheless.

Anyway thanks for suggestions everyone!
