LunaLua Questions

Well I'm been curious if it's possible to give characters some new frames like Link having a separate animation from jumping and ducking.
I just need to make sure if it's possible for it to work.
My second question is what code is used to change the hud, and if it's possible to have a HP bar instead of the three hearts.
Thanks.
I mostly need clarification of what is possible and what isn't.

Both of those things are possible, and not too difficult, especially with changes being adding is SMBX2.0 beta 3.

Thank you, although I don't get what differences SMBX 2.0 Beta has with Lunalua than SMBX 1.3.0.1.
(Sorry for the late reply. I lost this thread)

2.0 has more up to date LunaLua libraries, including one that allows you to customise player animations.

Can LunaLua be used to make the physics and mechanics more like Super Mario World? There are players who feel that the default physics are too slippery.

Yes. That is definitely doable

That's very reassuring to know. There are mechanics present in Super Mario World that are absent in SMBX (eg: Spin-jumping onto a Yoshi on top of a rotating block will cause Mario to break said rotating block while riding Yoshi), but it's good to know that could be fixed.

If you're very adept in Lunalua can you literally change anything about SMBX2.0?

Not quite. There's a few things that don't have hooks into the engine yet (which is why there are only a few new NPCs and blocks, and why the new characters don't support multiplayer), but all the new content was made with Lua, so all of that can be changed if you wanted, and there are a lot of other things you can do besides that.
