This would seem like a weird question but is it ok if we help out with other's people projects to gain experience while pausing our project at the same time.
I have learned a lot of stuff these past 2-3 months while working on other projects that i would apply to mine but idk if other people could get the same effect.
Don't see a question mark so I'll interpret this as a truthful statement. Goes hand in hand with what the first post said about working on smaller projects while setting your passion project aside until you can do it justice.

No need to confess to the Discord staff that you made an honest mistake.

Wow this became an interesting thread didnt it.
Fav message of it all is what Enjl said, just try to make the episode fun from beginning to end.
Thats a major goal for sure.

-Edit- although I can't help but say one of the first impulses of someone who first gets their hands on a mario maker is, how can I make a level thats either rediculously trolling or really hard to beat.
I think the best Kaizo designers could explain that better than me.

The main reason it was canceled was because I lost my GFX folder & forgot the people who made the graphics, I didn't want to steal credit.

Added in 47 seconds:
the new one is themed around challenges

Add "Unknown Source" to your credits.
Or tell them to contact you if they see their graphics in your project.

Came across a post recently that's relevant.
Image

I've been advocating for "don't make your project thread until almost done" for years, but was never quite able to put into words this idea of the social reality and resulting stress. The post is about learning japanese, but in itself also shifted from encouragement of sharing progress to total neglect of this idea to promote success. I think in addition to what's in the image, elements within the social reality and the existence of a "thread" centered around such things are also likely to promote stress and an expectancy of scheduled progress, which can be further damaging and demoralizing in the longer term. Over time, the second bullet point becomes stronger, as proportionally less progress is made than one would expect of themselves, while one slowly figures out what big scope of a thing they got themselves into. Then the project gets cancelled and all levels get dumpstered.

If you want to share something quickly, consider making a level instead of an episode. It can be secretly for an episode, but other people don't need to know that. It's not a selling point for the level, after all. It also encourages feedback and collaboration more directly, and attaches finished products to your name if you're new so people will have an easier time gauging your style and general personality.

^^^^^^

If there's not supposed to be a rule for minimum completeance then at least there should be an official recommendation in the purple bar, saying to only post when you already have a lot of work done. (hoping that at least a few serious members will consider it)
