Quick question

I've always wondered what the different Mario powerup symbols on threads mean (mushroom, fire/ice flower, 1-up). Also, on stickied threads and announcements, what's the difference between a red/green koopa shell?

EDIT: Thanks!

Mushrooms are normal topics and Koopa shells are sticky topics; red means unread posts, green means no unread posts. Upside down Koopa shells indicate a locked sticky.

Fire flowers are popular topics; blue means unread posts, red means no unread posts.

Keys are locked threads, and the presence of a red fireball indicates unread posts.

P-Switches are announcements; gray means unread posts, blue means no unread posts, and stomped means they're locked.

The little dot at the top left corner indicates that you posted in the thread.

Also, a Bullet Bill is a Shadow Topic. (Moved Topic) I have seen a few of those here as well, and it mainly when the staff moves a topic and forgets to remove (uncheck) the "make a shadow thread" box.

It's unchecked by default.

It used to be checked by default until I manually changed it.

I think I've seen key as a symbol for the locked sticky posts before.

As Joey said, it's actually an upside-down shell

Keys are for normal topics. As Joey and Pixel said shells are sticky ones.

I've seen keys as a symbol for locked topics before I registered in the forums. I think the locked post is just in the top portion that it looked like as a sticky. My fault, sorry.
