ATTENTION ALL TRUE MARIO FANS

Do you feel like our beloved hero, Mario, has been dying over the years? That Super Mario Brothers X has slowly become Super Level Editor X? That there is a concentrated effort to sabotage this community through force and silencing of the majority? I wish I could tell you that you have nothing to fear, but you do.



The Super Mario Brothers X community has had a long and rough history. We have all had our moments of shame, but what has kept us together is the tying bond of Super Mario, and his other friends. Super Mario brings us together, makes us forget our petty squabbles, and helps us all understand each other a little bit better.

But that, my friends, has slowly been coming to an end.



We all know the creator of Super Mario Brothers X was a brilliant yet sick man. His original intentions were to create a game that allowed us to send Mario on new adventures without corrupting the foundation of the Mario franchise. However, Andrew Spikes was easily corrupted by people pretending to like Mario, fakers, who would don the disguise of a true Mario fan and suggest to him unfitting things. The earliest example of this is adding Super Mario World features to our beloved game. Most Marioheads know Super Mario World is a blight on the series, and considered non-canon, yet some fakers disregarded this to get their way. This only got worse. Soon, features from the Legend of Zelda and Metroid were added. It is apparent these games are not what Mario is about. The features of Super Mario Brothers X seemed to be more and more anti-Mario, and it was apparent Andrew Spikes had grown to hate our beloved childhood character. The final "official update" to Super Mario Brothers X was 1.4, which removed Mario completely and focused more on real-time crafting and non-Mario related multiplayer. This led Andrew Spikes to be cast out of the community he built, and the new leaders picking up the pieces. Andrew Spikes renamed Super Mario Brothers X 1.4 Terraria, and began selling his corrupted vision of Super Mario Brothers X on Steam. Some members of our community were loyal to him, and became dedicated to this sick man's creation.



But this was only the beginning of our troubles. The next leader of our community was CaptainTrek, which clearly by the name, cared little of Mario. He was a Trekfreak, a group of people that have clashed with Marioheads for years, and his leadership lasted a short amount of time. There were many problems under his dominion, and this was the time when people started really ruining the message of Super Mario Brothers X. It was becoming more of a level editor than a love-letter to John Nintendo and the rest of the heroes of Nintendo, and the true Marioheads were starting to feel somewhat upset. CaptainTrek's reign lasted shortly, as he married near the end and abandoned this community. It is clear he had no love or dedication for Mario and the fans of Mario.



After CaptainTrek's reign, the community was literally split. Our love of Mario was overshadowed by drama and nonsensical squabbles that matter little now, though some of them still have impact. I was personally a follower of Mike McNaught, known as Knuckles to the community for his iron fist way of ruling. I never knew many people from the other side, but I'm sure all Marioheads alike felt the same way: left behind. Soon the community became more obsessed over webcomics and Team Fortress 2, which really have nothing to do with Mario. Friends were lost, families were destroyed, and Mario was forgotten.



Years later, a glimmer of hope appeared in the form of Joey, an old member of Andrew Spikes' original forum, and one who claimed himself to be a Mariohead (while I do not believe Joey is a faker, I do believe he could show more dedication to Mario and his beliefs by not having things like Pokemon avatars). The division in the community was no longer, but we had all forgotten our roots. The long separation had left us bitter at one another, and there was still much bickering and needless squabbles. This led myself and many others being cast out of the community, Marioheads with nowhere to go.



Flash forward to the present day. The little fights and nonsense go on constantly, and it seems a minority care about the truth Mario has inside. There are now programs like PGE and Lua Lua, which seek to remove the fundamental Mario features from Super Mario Brothers X and create a generic platform level editor. Super Mario Bros X "2.0" also makes the same mistakes Andrew Spikes made by adding more non-Mario features than you can shake a Super Mushroom at. Metal Gear and Metroid do NOT belong in Mario.



MARIO BELONGS IN MARIO!



It seems many members in our community have forgotten this fact, or have simply grown apathetic. Well I say we remind these people what we are about! I always had the insight to know this day would come, which is why from the get go I chose the name "BTB". Now you all know, BTB stands for Back To Basics, and that is what our plan is. We will bring Mario back to this community. We won't get distracted by fighting with each other. We won't let fakers shut us down and stop us.



WE WILL BRING SUPER MARIO BROTHERS X BACK TO BASICS, BACK TO MARIO!



If you support our cause, we kindly ask you to change your avatar and signature to something Mario related, and spread the word when you see something that goes against the fundamentals of Mario. We all together can make a difference!

I support this cause because I support Mario. If you don't change your avatar and signature to Mario, then you aren't a real Mario fan. It's as simple as that.

So we as Mario fans have created guidelines to becoming good members of this Mario forum. Since this is all about Mario, you'll find that to be the main focus of our guidelines.
IMPORTANT: Included within this file are the rules you must now follow in regards to designing levels. These rules are very important if you are a true Mario fan, so read them carefully! It is not required that you follow these rules, but you'll risk being exposed as a faker if you don't.
