John never takes vacations. I knew fakers were disrespectful, but this is a new low.

I'm saddened that some of you doubt my identity. I'm John Nintendo. Who else would I be?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry about the backtobasics movement, just a bit startled. I didn't expect such a sudden display of strong love for Mario, and I'm sure Miyamoto would appreciate this if he were still here with us today. But I would like to set the record straight on a few things.

I don't remember authorizing that timeline (though credit where its' due, it is impressively close to the true official timeline) and I'm not sure where you got many of these quotes from. It also seems some people here are too focused on what Mario began as to realize what it came to be about. Miyamoto's vision evolved over time: he wanted Mario to be loved by all and grow with his fans rather than be restricted by arbitrary convention. We here at Nintendo wish to honor both visions of Mario, so we consider every game canon. A few may have been developed with different audience or the other in mind, but New Mario is to Classic Mario as 3D Sonic is to 2D Sonic, console Zelda to the intellivision titles, Mega Man Battle Network to the DOS trilogy, Final Fantasy to Harvest Moon and so on.

Above all else, we're disappointed to see all of this anger being thrown around. From both sides. Miyamoto never wanted people to fight over his creation and you're disrespecting his memory by attacking one another. So please, Marioheads, stop using such negative language as "faker" to refer to fans of New Mario. And Newfans, please be respectful of the Marioheads' expression of their love for Mario's roots. New and Classic Mario can coexist, so let's all come together and celebrate Mario's legacy as a united community.

Last but certainly not least, please do not speak ill of Andrew Spikes. His family was kidnapped by pirates and he was forced to add non-Classic elements to SMBX against his will.

Yes and no. I was having a bit of fun and trying to play along, but I was also curious to see if I could do something to reduce the arguing as well as push this whole thing in a different direction. I honestly didn't have anything planned out for some big fake ARG thing or anything like that, but I figured I'd still try and give it a nudge and see what would happen. I really didn't mean any harm by it, and I hope there are no hard feelings.

But yeah. Regardless of my intent I was still breaking the forum rules, and for that I apologize.

A lot of times Miyamoto was forced to say things he didn't believe in by the corporate fakers at Nintendo. Someone you might know as a friend of the late Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka is actually one of the most dangerous examples of a Goomba in Toad's clothing. He used his position in Nintendo to spread his faker agenda, and coerced Miyamoto often by force to promote games he had nothing to do with. It is also rumored he was involved in the Reggie Tradegy, but that's neither here nor there.
